Handicapable.

Being one, I must say this word is brilliant. I only just stumbled across the word the other day. I love it. It describes excactly what I am. Walking with a stick (and not too long distances at a time) makes me handicapable. It's a happy word implying you're capable what ever is wrong with you. It's my favourite word for now anyway.
What is your favourite word?? And why?

Don't switch off The Switch!

We saw The Switch the other night.

We very much enjoyed it. What we also very much enjoyed was that the dvd just came with the post. What's even better is that when we're done watching it, we just pop it in the post box again. It's called Love Film and we Love It! When you have small children, a good film on TV always starts as we're putting them to bed. It's not so funny missing the beginning everytime. Then one of them wakes up and  needs the toilet, then the other one is thirsty..... So to watch a whole film uninterrupted, it has to be on dvd. Or of course at the cinema which then requires a babysitter and a lot of money....!!

So many presents and lots of cake

The two biggest wishes have been fulfilled. First Buzz Lightyear, then Woody!

After excitedly opening a present finding Buzz inside, the little man looks at his daddy, big smile on his face and says " I can't believe I got Buzz."  The cake done with lots of whipped cream just before the guests arrive and the table has been set for 12 happy guests.

Lots of other presents are recieved too and it's a very excited 4 year old boy who's now playing.
Tomorrow he and I bring home-made buns and these lovely things (in Danish they're called "Flødeboller" - "cream buns") into his nursery where they'll celebrate his birtheday once again. Lucky little man he is.

Big day tommorrow. The little man turns 4.

So a home made birthday cake is being made by the little man himself.
Strawberry jam and custard cream in 3 layers finished off with icing on top, hundred and thousands and wipped cream. It's called a Lagkage in Danish directly translated Layer Cake. Picture will follow when the cake is complete tommorrow. It's a very excited little man who's off to bed soon.

Muffin the clever cat!

Okay this video might not show it but she is very clever.
We don't have a cat flap but Muffin the clever cat she is, will just knock on our garden door when she wants to come in. Yep it's amazing I know:) We hear this little tap tap and there she is waiting to be let in!

Technical world....

Even playing with toy cars the computer world is brought in. My 3year old son (well 4 on sunday) was playing with toy cars with his daddy. The cars was waiting to drive cos according to the little man they were "loading". A phrase we do use a lot when he is getting impatient waiting for a playstaion game to load or a game on the computer. Obviously to him loading = waiting!

A summerday at the beach.

This is the beach closest to where we live. Only 10 minutes away.

Playing and relaxing in the sand.... It's lovely and that I do love! Not so happy though when we then bring back the whole (okay nearly the whole...) beach. Sand everywhere in the house!

Animal facts!

Denmark has twice as many pigs as there are people. (around 11 million pigs in Denmark then....)

A dog was the first animal in space. (What animal was second choice...??)

A sheep, a duck and a rooster were the first animals to fly in a hot air balloon. (Cos they are the animals that get along the best...??)

Animal accents! The accent of a cow’s mooing depends on the region it belongs to. (Sorry... What??)

You can lead a cow up the stairs, but not down the stairs. (Well maybe if you moo in the right accent you can....)

Is a zebra black with white stripes, or white with black stripes? Any guesses?
Well, it’s white with black stripes. (Is it..???)

The butterfly was originally known as the ‘flutterby’. (Who changed it then...??)

True story.

Jennifer and Jim kept getting huge water bills.
They knew beyond a doubt that the bills weren't representative of their actual usage, and no matter how they tried to conserve, the high bills continue. Although they could see nothing wrong, they had everything checked for leaks or problems; first the water meter, then outdoor pipes, indoor pipes, underground pipes, faucets, toilets, washer, ice maker, etc., all to no avail..
One day Jim was sick and stayed home in bed, but kept hearing water running downstairs. He finally got up from his sick bed (actually sick, but not deaf ) and went to investigate, and stumbled onto the cause of such high water bills.
Apparently this was happening all day long when they were not at home. Knowing that few would believe him, he taped a segment of the "problem", for posterity.

Now open the attachment and watch the video !

A really good book.

I'm reading Eleven Hours by Paullina Simons at the moment. It's brilliant. I love her writing style.
I always make sure I read paperbacks though cos they don't hurt so much when falling on my face. After having children I seem to fall asleep right away when I go to bed.... So I have to read paperbacks or I'll have to explain the black eyes...!!!
Any tips on reading in bed without falling asleep are very welcome....

Pancakes needed today....

Yesterday the weather was hot, sunny and lovely. The children played in the shade.

Today it looks like this....
... and it's colder. I don't mind so much but pancakes are needed for sure!
With sugar and jam on. Yummy that is!
