Oh, so many presents and a dancing Santa!!!
He was not real though but still shook his belly! He lives (only in December though) in Nana and Papa's pub where we were having Christmas lunch. The princess and little man mesmerised for a moment there.... Oh, you're wondering why the little man's wearing a cape on top of his nice clothes? Well, he got a Darth Vader mask and cape, did manage to convince him to not wear the mask though!
We enjoyed our fantastic Christmas lunch, played games and got even more presents! You wouldn't think there would be more presents though, not after you've seen the lot in front of the tree!
We woke up to this sight in Nana and Papa's house Christmas morning.... Just magic!!
Hope you all have had a great Christmas?

The daddy has just descovered our kitchen.....
.... and also an app on his phone called reciepes! It's mainly the cake recipes he looks up! He has so far made banana bread, fudge (which was a flop and couldn't be eaten) and today he has just made chocolate chip cookies! They look yummy, don't they??
We had friends around yesterday and they liked his banana bread (phew... I don't think he would have let them leave if they'd said otherwise), the daddy was praised for his effort and was one very happy man!!
Today morfar (grandad) and his wife came to give the princess and the little man their Christmas presents. We're spending Christmas in England this year so we have pre Christmas before we leave. I really like that as we don't have to take the presents from the Danish lot back and forward plus the princess and little man get to enjoy their presents a bit more, having them spread out like that! This way the Danish lot get to enjoy the children excitedly opening their presents. Also no doubt there'll still be lots of presents in England under Nana & Papa's tree. Thanks to online shopping, all our presents for everyone are already safely waiting for us at Nana & Papa's house, ready to get wrapped. It's a win win situation, isn't it??
Do you bring the presents back and forward if you travel to see family for Christmas??

Happy Birthday me from google.....
I turn on my computer this morning and the Google page comes on the screen looking like this....
I hover over the image with the mouse wondering what famous person I share my Birthday with..... Well, turns out that'll be me!!
Wow, how cool is this. Obviously Idon't know this image will only appear on my computer...
Well, the daddy had the day off for us to have a day together going shopping ( spending my birthday money ) and a lovely lunch.
We picked the children up, cake was sorted out and the Happy Birthday song was sung. I have had a fantastic day.

Who's the best mummy.....??
I am! Well, at least today I am. We had pancakes for dinner... how naughty is that? Surely that makes me the best mummy! Even if it's only for a few hours, I hold the title!
We're planning to have a really relaxed weekend (is that something you plan..?) with lazy mornings and we started with a lazy yummy dinner.... Pancakes!!
What are you up to this weekend?
The daddy has asked to do a guest post about tantrums. Apparently it's my tantrums not the childrens'. Don't know what he's on about obviously. I'm still thinking whether he should be allowed to do it. What do you think?

The Motte and Bailey.
My in-laws run a pub now. It's in the village where they live and the whole family help out there. I can't wait for the Christmas holiday when we come over and can be a part of the village pub life, and I'd love to have Christmas dinner there. The daddy can do a shift or two behind the bar, maybe I can do a sign even though uncle's signs are really cool! The princess and the little man can help Nana in the kitchin by making a mess... Anyway, here's some pictures of the pub and if you're passing through Pirton, Hertfordshire, do pop in please and say hi from me!

A speech, a rose, a diploma, a cuddle and very proud little girl!
Last night the princess' class had a goodbye party at school, it was just her class and all us parents. There's still 2 weeks before the school holiday starts but it was nice it was yesterday so we got to chat to the other parents before holiday starts. It was so lovely, their fantastic teacher had prepared a personal speech for each child and they were sat one after one in a golden chair whilst they had their speech, a diploma, a rose and a big cuddle. The princess was a bit shy but so proud!
We had all brought in a dish of some kind of dinner and it was all put on a big buffet. The children didn't sit down for long, let alone eat much! Having the whole school to themselves was too exciting not to explore. So the evening was spent running around playing hiding games while us parents chatted and enjoyed the food! When the evening ended there were 2 tired little people in the back of the car... didn't make them sleep in this morning though.... Wonder if that will ever happen!!
Do your children sleep in when up later than their normal bedtime??

The Disney way to eating meatballs!
In Denmark, where we live, meatballs (in Danish "frikadeller") are more or less a national food. So when your children do not eat them it's kind of frowned upon.... Well, the princess has been loving them for years now so she's in the clear but the little man is not a meat eater.
It has never bothered me or the daddy that the little man didn't eat meat. I was convinced he'll eat it when he felt the need to and I was right. Yesterday he was watching Disney's Lady and the Tramp. He was very fascinated and loved the scene where they share a plate of spaghetti and meatballs.
He asks "Mummy, can we have spaghetti and meatballs for dinner tomorrow?"
"Of course we can!"
So for dinner tonight that's what we had! Drum roll please......
The little man ate all his meatballs! Yeah, he's in the clear now too..... Woop Woop!
All it took was a Disney film.

Finally.... We're sooooooooooo excited!!!
It's nearly like Christmas today, really it is. We're so so excited and I'm not exaggerating! I know you're bursting to know what I'm on about, aren't you..... Well here goes!
We finally got an Indian Take Away in the town we live in!! Yep, that's absolutely huge....
I'm sure that for people not living Denmark this is not big news and when we lived in London, we had an Indian on every street corner, so I do understand that. We've missed Indian Take Aways so much for nearly 5 years now, only having them in England when on holiday there.
Why not just cook indian food myself? Well, I do do that sometimes but it's not the same...!
The daddy came back with veggie samosas, veggie pakoras, chicken tikka massala, plain and garlic naans. Yummy yummy yummy.....
It was so delicious and we even have a bit of left overs for tomorrow.

It was more than just a temperature....
A terrible cough and a sore throat has come sneakily during the night. The little man was coughing most of the night leaving him with a husky voice this morning. He has also started complaining about a sore throat.... I spoke too early on Friday thinking it was just a temperature!!
He's a little champion though, happily playing with his glazed over eyes, chatting away with a little husky voice.
He's fast asleep now (asked to be put to bed...) and I hope he gets a less disturbed night (and me...) How did I cope when they were babies and didn't sleep through? A night with broken sleep, when you're not used to it anymore, have left me feeling like I have a hangover.... Needing fatty food, sweets, crisps and drinking coke. Or maybe I'm just using it as an excuse to be allowed a day of unhealthy food....

Sleepover and MacDonalds.
The princess is having a sleepover at school tonight. Just her class, 28 very excited 6 year olds are now (it's 11pm here) probably whispering, trying to go to sleep. I dropped the very excited princess off earlier at 5pm. They were going to have burgers for dinner, be dancing to disco music, have popcorn and lemonade with funny straws to drink from!
So, left with mummy and daddy, was the little man. Thought he could have a little treat so a Happy Meal was picked up. He was very happy but did ask for a cucumber which he ate first.
No toy in the Happy Meal but instead a little activity book and a pencil. Good one MD!!! The little man spent 45 minutes after dinner colouring in, drawing and writing in his little book.
Very happy with himself he sat back on the couch and declared "I'm tired now". I think he found it tiring having to entertain his mummy and daddy all alone! We can be high maintenance....

I know it's spring.....
When these little flowers show up in our garden.....
When I have more salad on my plate than pasta and meat!
When the princess draws a lovely picture like this.....
When the little man and princess wear sunglasses.....
When the children play in the garden until dinner time because it's light enough....
When ice cream is needed more and more....
When do you know spring is here??
Don't forget to join the Weekend Blog Hop over at clairejustine!

It's all about the meatballs!
Well, not everytime but today it was! I went to Ikea today with my mum and lunch there was the highlight of the day. I just love their meatballs with mash and gravy. Not healthy...? Ah, who cares when it's so delicious!
Obviously that was not enough for my hungry tummy. I had to have more.... Soft ice with hundreds and thousands went down a treat too.
I did do a bit of shopping as well, of course I did. Not too much but there's always things I need from Ikea. Actually I go quite often because it's very close (too close) to the hospital where I go every 4 weeks to have my medicine. After 2 hours of being remined that I have MS (I forget about it most of the time or try too), a bit of lovely food and retail therapy is needed (and deserved) don't you think? Only got this today, all of it is something I really need!
My favourite is the very pink umbrella and the fake flowers, which I keep buying everytime I'm there! Hope you had a lovely Friday too, I certainly did!

Romantic dinner for two.
Just booked a table at an Italian Restuarant for Saturday night. Just me and the daddy are going out for dinner. Not something we do often even though everytime we've done it, we always say "We must do this again soon." Then we forget... But this Saturday, mormor (grandma) comes to babysit and off we go dining here!
I have asked for a table at the window so we can enjoy this view!

What celebrity would you invite to Christmas dinner?
You can only choose one. Without hesitation the daddy answered Jim Carey. Reason? He would annoy half the people at the table, the other half finding him hilarious! The daddy obviously being part of the last half.
Who would I like to have around for Christmas dinner? I cannot answer just like that.... It takes a lot of consideration! Do I choose an actor/actress? Or footballer? Singer? Honestly this is not easy. No, I have to go for funny. Therefore... Phil Dunphy, the dad in Modern Family, I would invite. Yes, the character. Reason? He's so funny.

Pre Christmas presents and Æbleskiver (sorry, no translation available)
I'll start with showing you what Æbleskiver are then.
You eat them hot with jam and sugar. The princess, little man and the daddy loves them. The daddy explaining what they are: "Like a pancake ball" Hmmm... actually a good explanation! They're really yummy and very Christmassy...! We were spoilt today with æbleskiver, homemade biscuits, lots of sweets and pre Christmas presents at Aunty's (my aunty really but we all call her that). The princess and little man were straight away playing with their lovely pre Christmas presents when we got back home.
The little man finished his bear (with help from the princess) and was very proud!

Norway out of butter.....
... it's true. http://www.newsinenglish.no/2011/12/06/butter-shortage-keeps-spreading/ It's all over the news here in Denmark and a collection of butter is going on here, which will then be transported to Norway. Apperently people in Norway offer beers in exchange for butter so if you're going to Norway in the near future, bring butter!
This is not the first time Norway has run out of things. Years ago they ran out of toilet paper! It's true... http://www.dailytimes.com.pk/default.asp?page=story_10-5-2004_pg9_3 Again Denmark organised a collection of toilet paper which was transported to Norway. Don't think they got any beers in exchange though.

Only ten fingers.....
That's what we all have and at times that can be a bit confusing. The little man likes doing maths with his daddy. 2+2, 3+1, 4+2 and so on. Nice easy maths where ten fingers are enough to count and work it out. Yesterday daddy asks the little man: "What is 10+1?" Hmmm, not sure what to do so he looks up at his daddy and says: "But I only have 10 fingers...!" Daddy lends him one of his fingers and after counting them all, a very loud 11 is shouted out! The pride on the little man's face was priceless!
I think he's working out the ingredients in the sausage roll on this picture, the clever boy!
