Seems to be all about the little man at the moment...
Well, he still lets me take photos of him playing without complaining so maybe that's why. In between practicing his skating on his little ramp our garden he plays footy. He preferes to be in goal....
Yesterday his friend and him played in the lovely sunshine we have at moment for a long time.

Snow White!
Me: "Who will you be?"
The little man: "The prince!"
"Has your teacher told you that?"
"No, but I want to be the prince!"
"I know honey, but it might not be you"
"It will because I WANT to be the prince!!!"
This went on for a little bit and to be honest, I was preparing all sorts of comforting words if or when the little man came home from school in tears. He didn't because he is the prince..... He obviously charmed his way to the top!
Me: "So do you have to kiss the the princess to wake her?"
The little man giggling: "Of course not! I just tickle her gently on the cheek"
Yeah, that's probably a better choice for a bunch of 5 year olds. Never the less, we're so excited to see the little man on stage on Friday.

Roll away, skater boy!!!
Today the sun looked at us from a clear blue sky. It was cold but we wrapped up and went out anyway.... The princess on her roller blades and the little man on his skate board. We took their scooters too and what luck because then the daddy felt he needed to show some of his skills too. Not that the princess, little man and I were impressed but he doesn't need to know that, does he??
The little man saw no need to take his helmet or albow pads off when he went climbing. I thought "how thoughtful of him" so I didn't have to worry if he fell down....

Who said anything about child labour....
I thought the trampoline looked like it was a bit troubled by all the snow we've got. So why not send the princess and her friend out to get all the snow off it. It's fun, isn't it girls?? When you're finished, come in a have some lemonade and crisps.
They were thrilled, worked hard and no doubt had a lot of fun. I could tell from the loud giggles!
No, the red cheeks are not because she's been outside for hours... That's makeup, a girls best friend, which you should never leave the house without! Not even if all you're doing outside is removing snow from a trampoline!!
While the girls wereworking hard having fun, the little man and the daddy went down town to spend the little man's coin from the tooth fairy. And to have a break at the bakery cafe and eat donuts.

You need some new ones, mummy!!
Right, the little man and I are sitting on the sofa a week ago. It's just before his bedtime so we're having a lovely cuddle. The little man pushes me slightly away looking at my chest. Just to clarify, I am not topless!!
"When are you gonna have some new boobs??"
Me: "Ermm... I'm not"
"Why not??"
Me: "Because I don't need new boobs"
"But there are old"
Well, take that....!! He is lucky he's only 5, cute, charming and good looking otherwise he might not have gotten away with the comment!!

How exciting.....
This is what the little man spelled with his cars Sunday morning at 8.30am.
Pilae....
Why...?? No idea but looked it up and here's what Wikipedia says:
Pilae Stacks are stacks of pilae tiles, square thin tiles, that were used in Roman times as an element of the underfloor heating system, common in Roman bathhouses, called the hypocaust. The concept of the Pilae stacks is that the floor is constructed at an elevated position, allowing air to freely circulate underneath and up, through the hollow bricks, into the structure walls. Examples of such baths are found not only in Rome, but also in Roman Britain and distant parts of the Roman Empire such as the baths at Chellah, in modern day Morocco.
This architectural technique was the first form of underfloor heating and the same principle is still used today.
Well, didn't know that! Did you...?? Sounds like the little man did... why write the word without that exciting knoweledge, eh???

A little helper....
Onkel K came around today to hang up the little man's basketball net he got for Christmas. Of course the little man was helping out! Uncle let him do some drilling which he apperently already knew how to do.....
Uncle: "You hold here and press this"
The little man looking up at him "I know..." and he drilled away!!
All up and ready, the little man showed us his skills....
Watch out Michael Jordan a new star is born....

The Skateboard....
The little man had wished for a skateboard and the lucky little man got one!! He's moster (aunty) had heard his wish and decided to grant him it... He was more than over the moon! A while back he had tried his friend's skateboard and ever since been saying he wished for one for Christmas. I was a bit sceptical as at only 5 years old, thought he might be a bit too young. He's not... he's brilliant on it and look so cool!
So happy the snow has nearly gone so he could get to try it. He's a born skater....
His other big wish for Christmas was granted too. Mormor (grandma) bought him a basketball net. That though, he will have to wait to after Christmas to try out. 3 more days and we're on our way to England!

I'm scared, I'm so scared, mummy!
That's what the little man screamed whilst shaking yesterday when he got, not just one but 2 splinters, for the first time in his life. How's he's managed not to get any at all for 5 years, I do not know. The princess has had several since she was little. So she's a bit of an expert on the subject so she shared her experience about splinters with the little man. Made a big effort to assure him it wasn't too bad, there would be no blood but a needle would be requried.
The little man was crying but brave and the first splinter was removed..... Big cheers and woo hoo's!! Then on to the next splinter. This time the little man had stopped shaking and crying and demanded to see to make sure I did it properly. He even giggled.... What a change in just 2 minutes but two splinters were removed and the little man was so proud.
This morning he needed to just go through the splinter story a few times to make sure we all remembered how scared and brave he was!! I of course told him what a big brave boy he was and that he eagerly agreed with.
Not to forget the princess and her part in the big splinter drama last night, I did remember to tell her what a big help she was sharing her experience with her little brother.
Here they are, the brave little man and his helpful big sister.

Football fan but not your team, daddy!!
The little man has an interest in football, helped by the daddy who's the biggest football fan I know. As the little man has gotten older (now 5) his understanding of the game has increased and he sits with the daddy and watches the games. He loses interest after a while but not before he knows what team the daddy wants to win and more often than not then chooses the opposite team!! That's all fine when it's randomish games but when it's the daddy's team it hurts when the little man chooses the reds not the blues.....
When we went away with our friends the other weekend the men were discussing this as our friends little boy does the same!!! My friend and I said nothing, it was not a discussion for us to interact in!! None of us suprised that our little boys are winding up their daddy!!

"It's Bond, James Bond"
The daddy and I went to the cinema on Saturday. We watched Skyfall, the new James Bond movie. It was good, I very much enjoyed it.
The daddy however felt he had to enlighten his children on the whole James Bond shenanigans so Sunday the walkie talkies were found and he instructed his 2 agents. A very important thing in the agent world apparently is to remember to say 'roger' when you're finished talking. The 2 agents in training tried really hard and did remember the 'roger' thing nearly everytime. The princess was undercover as Rapunzel, the little man as a fan of spiderman!
Ups... I just blew their cover didn't I !!!

The story about a mobile phone....
I stumbled across a box today. I was not prepared for what I found in there..... It was massive and fake metallic light grey. I could not stop laughing and I'm still giggling writing this. It belonged to the daddy many years ago and back then I remember it causing quite a few laughs when showed to people. You want to know what it is??
I'll show you a picture....
It's the daddy's old mobile phone from 2005. Look at it.... Anyhow, he did not quite understand my amusement.
"Look at my phone, it's nearly as big today as it was then"
Hmmm, is it!!?? Well, there's a reason for the bigger phones today. They have touch screens. He then claimed everyone laughing at him back then were the ones to laugh at now cos he knew already in 2005 that a phone that size would be the future!!
I see a difference though don't you? The screen on his phone today 2012, 7 years down the line, is double the size because everything is on there, nice and compact. The princess and little man were very impressed and the little man straight away took to it pretending to call one of his mates from nursery....
Like father like son.....
But seriously you understand why I'm laughing, don't you??

Boys can play with it as well....
Hama beads that is. I played with Hama beads as a child, now my children do. We found a new way to make it a bit different but as much fun.
The little man and I tried it out today.
It's simple, let the children fill the baking tray, put it in the oven for around 10 minutes at 200 degrees. Do keep a close eye on them as the time they need in the oven can vary.
Now you can make cool bracelets and necklaces for Christmas presents.

The Library!
Sounds so serious doesn't it?? It isn't but we did go to the library yesterday. The princess has to read 10 pages a day for school, and we were running out of books. Everyday it's written down on her reading log and signed by me or the daddy depending on who reads with her. When she's read 1000 pages she'll get a diploma at morning assembly. When she's read 5000 pages she'll get a t-shirt. She's already read 510 pages!
She does go to the school library every Thursday with her class but they're only allowed 2 books each, so we ventured to our local library to get more books. I love our library, it's all newly refurbished and very smart. The princess chose a bunch of books for reading and some for us to read for her. The little man found some books as well plus a game for daddy's old Playstation 2. They both picked a couple of dvds too. Films and the game are all quite a few years old but brand new to us.
This is our library where there also is a restaurant, cinema, and a cafe.
Enough about libraries and books.... My mini scooter arrived on Saturday, so Sunday we went for a walk (drive for me). It was fantastic cos the daddy and I could hold hands..... That's something that's been a bit tricky as he's the one pushing me in the wheelchair normally so he has his hands full!!! The princess and little man were riding their bikes and we looked like a 'normal' family! The little man really wanted to try it too and why not so here he is...
Chelsea were playing later hence the little man dressed in all blue!! Matched the scooter though....

Why the days are called what they are....
That the little man knows so if you don't he will be happy to explain!
Sunday: The first day the sun came out!
Monday: The first day the moon came out!
Tuesday: The first day we had shoes!
Wednesday: The first day the world came!
Thursday: The first day we were thirsty!
Friday: The first day we ate fried food!
Saturday: The first day we sat down!
Who wouldn't believe this little boy??
Well, I think he's bang on... What do you think??
(Might be worth mentioning that the conversation went on between the little man and his daddy this morning at 5.45am.)

My little artist!
When the little man (just 5 years old) comes home with two drawings like this in his bag, it's okay to be proud isn't it??
A lovely aeroplane,
and this is Nemo he told us!
Have a lovely Saturday!
