My very good friend works for a company who makes clothes for children. Queenz it's called. She asked a while back if maybe the princess would like to be a model next time we came to theirs. Well, obviously the princess was delighted and this weekend we stayed with them. Yesterday she got to be a model for the day and loved every minute. The pictures above are the ones I took as a kind of 'behind the scenes'.
Below are some of the model photos.
We had a lovely weekend with our friends and the princess had the best day ever she said. She loved being a model. Most be her creative side.

It's party time.....
Friday night from 5pm to 9pm it was party time! The princess' school was having a schoolparty. There was popcorn, slush ice, cake, pizza and a disco. The princess had been looking forward to this for weeks, gone through various dresses she wanted to wear but ended up playing it safe with a classic black dress.... She did indeed look very cute.
She danced the night away and had a great time....

Roll away, skater boy!!!
Today the sun looked at us from a clear blue sky. It was cold but we wrapped up and went out anyway.... The princess on her roller blades and the little man on his skate board. We took their scooters too and what luck because then the daddy felt he needed to show some of his skills too. Not that the princess, little man and I were impressed but he doesn't need to know that, does he??
The little man saw no need to take his helmet or albow pads off when he went climbing. I thought "how thoughtful of him" so I didn't have to worry if he fell down....

I'm scared, I'm so scared, mummy!
That's what the little man screamed whilst shaking yesterday when he got, not just one but 2 splinters, for the first time in his life. How's he's managed not to get any at all for 5 years, I do not know. The princess has had several since she was little. So she's a bit of an expert on the subject so she shared her experience about splinters with the little man. Made a big effort to assure him it wasn't too bad, there would be no blood but a needle would be requried.
The little man was crying but brave and the first splinter was removed..... Big cheers and woo hoo's!! Then on to the next splinter. This time the little man had stopped shaking and crying and demanded to see to make sure I did it properly. He even giggled.... What a change in just 2 minutes but two splinters were removed and the little man was so proud.
This morning he needed to just go through the splinter story a few times to make sure we all remembered how scared and brave he was!! I of course told him what a big brave boy he was and that he eagerly agreed with.
Not to forget the princess and her part in the big splinter drama last night, I did remember to tell her what a big help she was sharing her experience with her little brother.
Here they are, the brave little man and his helpful big sister.

"What did she have....?"
I asked the princess the other day when I picked her up. One of her teachers had had a baby and she came to show the children the little one. The princess proudly told me she had stroked the baby's cheek very gently. Which led to the question "what did she have?" The princess looked at me liked I was stupid. "Erm... a baby!!" Trying not to laugh too loudly I said "was the baby a boy or a girl" The princess started giggling "a girl"!!!
We've finally found a way the funiture in her room should be placed. It's a small room and she needs floor space to dance in front of her mirror... Or to just have enough space to look at herself! Anyway we managed to make her desk area really cosy and she does love to sit and draw or write her little stories there.

Two spiders in the house!
Not real ones but these two....
Extra beds made up in both rooms as the pictures are from last week when aunty V and the cousin were here to stay. We said farewell to them Thursday afternoon after 5 lovely days in their company. Friday the daddy, mormor (grandma) and I picked up 7 very excited little girls and 2 equally excited littler boys, and took them all to a softplay nearby to have the princess' belated birthday party. It was fun. Today at 10am, 3 very excited 5 year old boys came to celebrate the little man's birthday. After 3 hours of fun and a treaure hunt to end it all, birthday celebrations are done for now. Tired it has left me but with 2 very happy children, so worth it...
So I guess I can feel absolutely fine about treating myself to a lovely brunch with some good friends tomorrow morning, can't I?

Hot, hot, hot....
This last week it's been hot but not as hot as the last few days where it's been like really hot, hot, hot.... It's lovely but I struggle a bit in heat like this. It has meant that a trip to the beach was possible yesteday though. It's only 2 minutes away! What's even better is that aunty V and our little cousin are here for the week and we all went to the beach together. The daddy and aunty V quickly thought it would be funny to bury their children.... You so often hear about children getting sun burned on the beach! Well, not in this case.
The little man is 5 years old in two days. I can't believe he's already 5.... He's very excited and next Saturday we're having his friends around for a little party. He was so proud when he handed out his invitations last Friday. The princess will have her birthday party for her school friends on Friday. We're off to Dinoland, a softplay near where we live. That had made up for the fact the princess is born in the middle of the school holidays. She's now forgiven us.....

Oh, we do dress up when we go out.
"We have to, mummy" both the little man and princess announced. I'm all for looking nice when we leave the house but my children seem to take it a little bit further.... Today we were going to the cinema to see Madagascar 3 (which it's s great film by the way) and the princess needed her Rapunzel plait and a home made kind of headband thingy. The little man only needed a headband like Troy (High School Musical) to look cool enough! Well, here they are....
What do you think? Do they look cool enough to go to the cinema?

Playdate but what will it lead to...???
With the princess still at mormor's Thursday as well, the little man requested a playdate. He's enjoying the holiday but misses his friends and girlfriend from nursery. Luckily his girlfriend was more than happy to come around to play a couple of hours! The little man proudly showed her how Muffin drinks from the paddling pool and after, how to lift her correctly. At lunch time they asked to watch Charlie and Lola. I have high hopes that this is the one! Look how cute they are....
The daddy picked up the princess later Thursday, she'd been missed very much. It really showed the next morning. The little man waking up a bit before her asking when she would wake up. The secound she woke he snuggled up and was allowed to watch her play on her DSI! I enjoyed every minute.....
By lunchtime they were playing, bickering, playing again like normal....

Earrings and Top Model drawing books.
Those are books the princess had wished for and her wish was granted... 3 books she got for her birthday! I'm not good enough at drawing to be allowed to have a go, but her moster (aunty) is. So a morning spent at her house was just the best! She came home beaming and with beautifully painted nails as well! Moster is the No 1 at the moment! She took the princess to have her ears pierced just after her birthday. Now there's no way any of us can get the No 1 spot however hard we try. Well, as long as the princess is happy....
Tomorrow moster will have a day with the little man (no, his ears won't get pierced... EVER!) I will take the princess to have her hair trimmed and my own too. That I'm still allowed to do... maybe I'm slowly making my way back to the top...
You can make your own lovely free collage here.
Or maybe you'll be the winner of some lovely things from here so make sure you have a look!

Energy!
Is the name of the band who won the Danish song contest for children. It's so much better than the adult song contest, I think. (I miss when all the countries sang in their own language. It was so much more entertaining!) Well, back to the danish childrens song contest MGP it's called. It's brilliant, the children write their own music and lyrics, do their own little dance routines and they're all so cute. We watched the show 3 weeks ago. The princess loved it and we got her all the 10 songs on CD.
Result: She now knows all the ten songs by heart! Her bedroom door is closed for hours, music playing loudly and the princess singing even louder!
Suddenly silence and we all have to come in.
"Please put your hands in the air...!"
Look at the concentration!
She's so much cooler than I was at her age. There was no childrens song contest but I loved it every year when the european songcontest was on. I tried to memorise all 30 songs in their original language so I could sing them in front of my mirror. I had a hairbrush as a microphone!
Maybe you can imagine what that sounded like....!!?? Not good I tell you!

Straight or curly hair!
The princess has the most beautiful blond and straight hair.
Girls/women all over the world use hours getting straight hair like this. It's also thick. yes I know, she's a very lucky girl. But aged 6 she's not happy.... She wants curly hair! The easiest way to get that at her age, is to plait it while it's wet and let it dry. Saturday we did just that. After hours at Dino Land and a good night's sleep her hair finally curled!
Here she is with plaits, playing on one of the fantastic (and free) retro video games at Dino Land. The daddy had a great time showing all the games he used to play, and apparently was very good at as well he told them!
Here she is with curls...Cute, isn't she?

I have found the princess' future husband....
Seriously, I have! I know she's only 6 years old but then it just saves me many years of being worried, her dating and all that! The other day the princess had a friend here to play, a boy her own age. He is the sweetest and cutest little boy (obviously apart from the little man and my soulmate of course). They played so well and were so sweet together. Now I just need to convince and manipulate the princess in to thinking the same and in 20 years time they can marry! Well, that's sorted then!
I wish... Guess that's not quite how things are gonna turn out. Surely I'm not that lucky, am I?

The elephant song.
The little man and the princess are growing up way too fast. There was a time when they would sit (both could fit on my lap at the same time) and watch this song on the computer with me. They loved it and so did I. Actually just for a minute today, both stood completely still next to me (they don't fit on my lap anymore at the same time) and watched it. Then got fed up with the 'baby' song and walked off leaving me all choked up remembering them being little.
Now the princess loves Michael Jackson (strongly influenced by her daddy)
The little man (who's defo been here before) loves old music like Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash, one of his favourites.
Well that's not too bad a music taste is it...?! For now anyway.
