The last gymnastic show is finished

This is the tween (the one furthest to the right) 4 shows is done and dusted.

The little man had his last show too last Saturday but we didn't get a video. Here's a picture though.
And I was 'clever' forgetting to get the little man black shorts so he was the only one in long black tracksuit bottoms. And easy to spot....

Half term starts today and I sent a Rubik cube to school

BIG Rubik cube made for the little man.

It's Fastelavn Party at school today. The kids dress up. We made a Rubic cube for the little man. Actually I did. The tween went as an Justin Bieber fan because it had to be cool....
From today it's half term and next week Nana, Papa and cousin J are coming from England to stay a few days. YEAH!!!!

Chess on a Saturday

The little man very much in the game. He didn't win that game but won 2 out of his 4 games.

The little man plays chess at the school's chess club every Wednesday afternoon. He loves it. They go to tournaments and play against other schools. I go with him and I'm always very impressed how quiet there is when they play. There are sometimes 24 kids in a room. They shake their opponent's hand and then everybody starts and it goes completely quiet. Amazing.
Last Saturday the picture above is from. It was 5 lovely hours with chess for the kids and free bread and coffe for the parents. Win Win... Well apart for they didn't win but they had a lot of fun.

The Princess on stage

The princess takes singing and drama classes at a Musical School nearby. She loves it and we love watching the shows they do. Last weekend she rehearsed for many hours. Saturday and Sunday afternoons they performed. Here's two pictures from the actually show and two from the many hours of rehearsals.

It was a great perfomance they all did and they all looked so happy and they enjoyed very much.

Rehearsing the songs before the show.

A chat and a laugh in one of the 5 minutes breaks during rehearsals.

Now there's a break over Christmas and New Year. 2nd week in Januar they start up again. Tomorrow is last day of school and tomorrow is also when we're off to England.

December, Christmas tree, Christmas Market and a hat to wear throughout the month

The little man with his Christmas hat he will be wearing all December.

It's now December. We have attended the only Christmas party at school which was held on the 1st of December. We've been to the Christmas Market in town and we have yet to watch a Christmas film.

The tween (formerly called the princess in my blog posts... tween is what she is now and princesses are so last season or something like that) is rehearsing a lot these days with her musical school. They're performing the weekend before Christmas and just 4 days before we leave for England. We're very much looking forward to seeing the show.

The little man is back in the school chess club and loving it. He played against his daddy yesterday and 4 moves was all it took to win. Well, the daddy 'wasn't quite ready' apparently but that's no excuse. The little man beat me twice but you don't hear me complain. He's just better at chess than his mummy.

The weather here is cold, frosty and sunny today. A lovely Sunday - perfect for the daddy and little man to play footy outside.

Oooh and the Fairy delivered our Christmas tree in the night. Very magical! We've decorated the tree now and it's very pretty. Pictures can be found here on my Instagram.

When the children do chores

The little man had arranged Teddy and Doggy neatly when he did his bed this morning.

Our children do a few things to help around the house. They make their bed every morning before we leave for school. They put their plates away after meals. They take the bin out and they keep their rooms tidy. They make sure their school bags are ready and put them out the night before. They probably do more some weeks but mostly it's this. The little man just does it whereas the tween aka 'the princess' does too, but with a bit of huffing and puffing.

Hopefully this will help them when they leave home. Maybe the huffing and puffing will also stop.

"I would not be a very inspiring disabled person" my husband/my soulmate/father of our children said!

Me and the little man on Pokemon hunt. Well, not me really but the little man is. I'm just hanging around and watching him catch them.

Response to the headline is that I am a very inspiring disabled person which is why I couldn't stop laughing at my husband's very honest statement. My statement on the other hand might be slightly big-headed. The husband and I were laughing about it all the way home in the car - the kids were not impressed with their parents.

We had been out for dinner last night as the little man had read 10,000 pages so we celebrated at the local Pizzaria. The conversation was on the way home from there. I think the princess was especially relieved it was in the car and not the restaurant where we decided to laugh our heads off.
Yummy pizza for dinner yesterday at our local lovely Pizzaria.

Today is Sunday and we have nothing on. Well, the little man is getting ready for a walk around the neigbourhood soon - for another Pokemon hunt. No sun today though, but that doesn't stop a serious hunter.

Road Trip

Some of the music we listened to going to Germany and back on Friday. The kids had nowhere to run and ended up liking most of mummy and daddy's playlist.

Friday, the daddy had the day off and we all went to Germany. We live only an hour away and on a rainy day it was a nice thing to do. Also we're still so amazed with our new car that a longish drive is a bit of a treat. We finally got a car with automatic gear and it's a dream to drive with. Especially for me with my constant-pins-and-needles-feet and my heavy left leg. Not that I got to drive eiher way though. The hubby thought it was best he drove. I have the car every day so he dosen't get to drive it much. So I let him drive of course... no need for tantrums.

We had a great little road trip and have been relaxing the rest of the weekend. Tomorrow it's back to school again. Everyday life is back. Well, nearly because on Tuesday Uncle D, Aunty E and baby I. arrive. They're staying until Saturday. We're all very excited.
This is my treat I brought back from our little road trip. I love the jar!

Something like 5000 children and their computers.

All sitting side by side playing games. There was like real gamers/youtubers there too. It's called a LAN Party - the little man and daddy learned.

They spent a good 3 hours there last Saturday. There were things to try such as virtual reality glasses. Both the little man and daddy tried them. The daddy wasn't too keen and took the glasses off quickly. The little man also spent some of his pocket money. He's a Pokemon hunter and a cap was needed for that.
The little man and his Pikachu.

Meanwhile the princess, her friend and I went shopping. We walked, or the girls did, I was on my little mini scooter. We went from shop to shop and were ready to go by the time the daddy called and asked us to come pick them up. A tired little man and 2 tired girls sat quietly in the back of the car on the way home.

Now it's already Friday. Where did the week go? We're of to Germany for a day trip today. We only live an hour away from the border.

Have a lovely Friday everyone.

Our little new cousin - my little niece

On the picture she's holding on tight to her daddy's finger.

She arrived a week ago and I can't wait for it to be my finger she holds on to. We arrive in England the 25th June so still a few weeks before we get there. Luckily we can Skybe and the proud parents sends us lots of pictures. We actually saw her when she was an hour old. Amazing and all thanks to the internet!

I've bought and made a lot of things for our little cousin/niece already and I'm sure I will find more before we get there in the end of June.

Cupcakes on a rainy Satuday.

Saturday it rained and rained. The princess and the daddy decided that baking would be a great thing. They went for cupcakes. Here's their very fine cupcakes ready to eat. Can you guess which ones the prinsess decorated??

We have a Bank Holiday coming up this Friday. Can't wait for a day off. We've booked cinema tickets and going to see The Junglebook Friday afternoon.

Have a lovely Wednesday where ever you are!

Gymnastic Show, Easter Holiday and way to long since last.....

The 3 first pictures are the princess doing the second of her 2 gymnastic shows. The 3 bottom pictures are the little man doing his 2nd of his 2 shows. One was before Easter the other just after. I have just been so rubbish at writting on the blog. That will hopefully change.
Between the two shows it was Danish Easter holiday and we drove to England to see the family. We had 6 great days there packed with lots of things. Football game for the boys - Shopping day for the girls. Cinema  trip and lots of family time. Here's a few pictures.

Games in the car driving to the ferry.
Watching a film on the way.
The ferry from Calais to Dover.

Model for a day!

My very good friend works for a company who makes clothes for children. Queenz it's called. She asked a while back if maybe the princess would like to be a model next time we came to theirs. Well, obviously the princess was delighted and this weekend we stayed with them. Yesterday she got to be a model for the day and loved every minute. The pictures above are the ones I took as a kind of 'behind the scenes'.
Below are some of the model photos.
We had a lovely weekend with our friends and the princess had the best day ever she said. She loved being a model. Most be her creative side.

Creative Mondays!

The Selfie Stick!

That's what she spend her last Christmas money on from aunty. She's then since done lots of pictures and videos. Very funny ones actually.
The daddy and I might have to borrow it sometimes I think!

Do you have a selfie stick?? Do anyone in the family?

Relaxing with a cup of tea.

Yesterday it was back to school so no time for tv and a nice cup of tea in the morning. The picture is from Wednesday morning last week when it was half term.
Both the princess and the little man were looking forward to going back to school though. They both love school and had missed their friends. Also they the princess was off to see the musical Chicago with her dancegroup last night. It's one of the teachers from the dance/drama/sing company where she dances that was directing the musical. All the kids got to go backstage and then see the dress rehearsel afterwards. She was home late for a school night but it very rarely happens so we agreed it was okay. She's promised to not be moody this morning and she did keep her promise. She's up, dressed and eating her cereal.

Oooh, I finished my 22nd book this year. I'll make that a post for tomorrow or Thursday. It's a good book.

Have you had a good weekend?

Oops, I did it again.

Forgot to blog. Sorry, I know you missed me a lot and I will try and be better in then future. This week it has been half term in Denmark. We've enjoyed the time off trying not to do too much. The daddy had Monday and Tuesday off too and we all had some lovely days relaxing.
Now half term is nearly over and Monday it's back to school. Today we went Halloween shopping just the kids and I. The little man also bought himself a game for the X-Box. He had saved up and handed over a lot of coins to the lady behind the counter. It took a while to for her to count but it was all there.
I will try and be better to write here so don't give up me just yet.

Birthdays with only a month apart.

(Ã¥r means year)
We won this lovely Birthday cake from our local bakery. My sister and mum had entered the princess and little man in a compatition in the local paper. We were able to pick it up the day the little man had his Birthday party. How lucky is that!
The cake was meant for both children as their Birthdays are only a month apart. The little man got to blow out the candles though. His big sister is way to cool for doing that now she's 10 apparently.
The cake is normal sponge cake with melted brown sugar on top as well as marcipan, icing and lots of sweets. It's a very traditional Danish Birthday cake but Nana and Papa who was over from England loved it too. Nana got the recipe of the internet so she can attempt to bake one back in England. We will look forward to that next time we visit.

Have a lovely Sunday.

You know it's gonna be a great day when.....

Your 10 year old says:

"you look like a filmstar, mummy"

When you come out from the bathroom on a Monday morning.
I nearly asked her what she wanted or needed me to do or what she'd done but decided not to. Maybe she did just mean I looked amazing.
Well, I chose to believe that's what she meant.

It's going to be a lovely day.

Summer is here and holiday - what's not to like!

Holiday - lazy mornings - sleepovers and dinner outside. Well, we've nearly finished the first week of holiday and the weather has been amazing. So the little tiny pool has been set up and we eat outside nearly every night. The children and I relaxe and have icecreams before lunch some days (don't tell the daddy) and they have a little swim in our tiny little blow-up pool. I watch Wimbledon and prepare dinner. Yesterday it was spicy chicken and roasted veggies. Yummy!
In 2 weeks time the daddy starts his holiday and we're off to England. We're all very excited.

Midsummer.

Yesterday was midsummer and here in Denmark it's celebrated with bon fires everywhere. We even put a witch at the top to burn. No, of course not a real one! But I do agree it's weird.... Anywho, we went with the children to the nearest beach to watch. It was lovely.
Friday the children's summer holiday starts. 6 weeks where I don't have to set the alarm for 05.55am. Love it.

Oh forgot to show our 2 new garden gnomes. Aren't they cute??
