Sun-Shining-Summer-Sunday-Suddenly-Showed....
.... up! Sorry ran out of words starting with S that I could use.
Here in tiny Denmark the sun has been shining from a clear blue sky since we got up this morning. It's warm and so lovely. We've been wearing summer clothes again and been bare foot. The little man asked after lunch if he should wear shoes outside or just feet. Ah.. just feet is fine honey:) Oh, and if we could call him Stanley from now, please (from the film Cars).
Autumn started nearly a month ago and suddenly the weather decides to be all summery.... Apparently next week should be sunny and warm here, and come the weekend (already October then) it's supposed to be really nice and warm. That's good for the princess though because her school has a themed week from tomorrow. They work across the classes and make all sorts of stuff. Saturday is a school day for the children and family come to see what they've been up in the week.
It's now close to bedtime and the little man, ups sorry, Stanley and the princess are relaxing watching Wizard of Oz.

You hear the truth from children and old people....
..... or so they say. As I wrote a couple of days ago, my 4year old son thinks I look like a dinosaur. Yesterday an old lady comes up to me asking what's wrong with me? I tell her I have MS, hence the stick. Oh... she thinks that is so sad when I'm so young. Hmmm... I smile and say I'm not that young, I'm 35. Then she says: (and I will just write this in bold fat letters) "You look a LOT younger"
Thanks:)
I choose to believe you hear the truth from old people because they've been here longer and know more!! What does a 4 year old boy know? Hmmm... actually as he's been here more than once before, don't answer that!
Thanks:)

Silent Sunday.
The house is so quiet. The princess is at a birthday party and the little man is at mormor's (grandma). I finished my book (I Miss Mummy) yesterday so I'll use the calm quiet time in the house to start a new one. It's called The Other Hand by Chris Cleave, and I've been told it's brilliant. This is the description on the back of the book:
We don't want to tell you too much about this book. It is a truly special story and we don't want to spoil it. Nevertheless, you need to know something, so we will just say this: It is extremely funny, but the African beach scene is horrific. The story starts there, but the book doesn't. And it's what happens afterwards that is most important. Once you have read it, you'll want to tell everyone about it. When you do, please don't tell them what happens either. The magic is in how it unfolds.
I can't wait to find out what it's about and NO I won't tell you when I eventually finish it.

The elephant song.
The little man and the princess are growing up way too fast. There was a time when they would sit (both could fit on my lap at the same time) and watch this song on the computer with me. They loved it and so did I. Actually just for a minute today, both stood completely still next to me (they don't fit on my lap anymore at the same time) and watched it. Then got fed up with the 'baby' song and walked off leaving me all choked up remembering them being little.
Now the princess loves Michael Jackson (strongly influenced by her daddy)
The little man (who's defo been here before) loves old music like Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash, one of his favourites.
Well that's not too bad a music taste is it...?! For now anyway.

Life as a mum, soon-to-be-wife, blogger and handicapable.
For nearly 2 years now, I've been writing a blog about life with MS. We are around 15 bloggers and we meet once a year to get updates, help from the technical team, swop ideas and so on. The meeting this year was supposed to be next month but it has been moved to april next year. I had been looking forward to 2 days in a nice hotel, shopping a bit (okay, a lot) lovely dinner in a nice restaurant and of course the meeting. I was extra excited this time as well because I'd been asked to do a 45 minute talk about blogging, giving advice on how to write, put pictures, videos and links onto the blog. I'm very flattered to be asked and I now have until April to prepare.
I love writing, it's great therapy and yes I have a chronic illness but on a positive note, it's nice to be able to share the ups and downs of life whilst being 'handicapable' (I like that word more than 'disabled') and hopefully give hope, advice maybe, to other people in a similar situation.

Children and the toothbrush!
What is it that happens with our dear children when told to brush their teeth?? Last night the little man had a major tantrum when it was time to clean his little teeth. The toothbrush was too heavy for him, he didn't want anybody to look and on he went with the excuses. It took a looong time to get over the toothbrush tantrum but eventually he caved and whispered "sorry daddy". All smiles when he went to bed.
This morning he woke up the happiest little boy and actually had his teeth brushed only complaining a little. I reminded him about the tantrum and said that we won't have that again tonight will we?? He honestely didn't seem to care but nodded in agreement and continued to draw. He used to be fine and happily brushing his teeth but after he has turned 4 it's not done without an argument or a big tantrum.
But I must say with his looks he does get away with a lot...

Then I don't want to live here anymore.....
The princess (6) shouts and slams her bedroom door, stamping around in there to make sure we understand she's serious. What caused the anger...?? Hmmm not sure but one thing is sure: Mummy and daddy are stupid and do not understand ANYTHING! 45 minutes later she's still going strong and daddy calls her bluff. Come on then, where shall I take you to live?? She stops and now she's not angry just really tired and could she see a film please to relax? Uh and said in a very small voice: Sorry.
But look at her, it's not easy to see but she can be Queen of tantrums.

I'm reading this book at the moment.
It's brilliant and I can highly recommend it. I'm roughly half way through it now and I am really enjoying it. My soulmate's little sister gave it to me for Christmas.
Barbapapa.
I grew up with them, and they're still around. The princess and the little man like watching them.
The little man needed new wellie boots and I found these.
How cute are they!

Chickens don't just cluck....
This conversation went on at dinner: The princess was making a chicken with her hand pretending it could talk. Her daddy said: "Imagine if the chicken could talk?" I said: "Have you never seen Chicken Run?"

Would you believe it....
.... another one fell out. Another tooth that is (in case you're wondering). Mormor (that's danish for grandma) came with me to the school to pick up the children today. Firstly we got the little man at nursery, and then went to get the princess. She (for whatever reason) thought that carrying her swimming bag with her mouth would be cool. Well, it resulted in losing another tooth! Lots of crying, but her fantastic teacher found a tiny little treasure chest with the words 'Tooth Saver' on it. Happiness was restored, and then replaced with pride.

Tooth Fairy and a dead mouse....
05.55am rise and shine mummy. Had the Tooth Fairy been?? She had indeed and a shiny coin had replaced the tooth. So really, no wonder an early waking up was in place. As for the little man, he just thought waking up nice and early would be fun!
Muffin the cat knocked on the door to the garden at 06.05am and with a smile (yes I am sure of the big smile) on her little face walked proudly past me inside. Closing the door I look outside. A dead mouse is laying right outside the door. That's why the big smile and proud walk. 06.10am the mouse is removed. Muffin wants to go out again not aware the mouse is now gone. About to go out she looks confused, then looks at me still confused, looks outside again and slowly walks out trying to find the mouse. As I close the door she looks at me with blame and walks off in protest of the missing mouse probably to go catch another one.
