We just got back to Denmark this afternoon after 6 days in England and the most amazing wedding where there was a magician, so now the little man constantly does his magic tricks! They're good as long as you remember to close your eyes when told to.... I'm too tired to write anything more so will just show a few photos instead! Enjoy....
Amazing day.....

Brunch....
Sunday the daddy and I went to the best cafe in town by the harbour to have brunch. Just him and me.... It was our Christmas present, we enjoyed the lovely food and some adult time! Though I do think the princess and little man were more excited than us, to have some mummy and daddy free time with mormor (grandma)
Look how happy I look! It was a buffet!!! Do I need to say more...?!

I'm scared, I'm so scared, mummy!
That's what the little man screamed whilst shaking yesterday when he got, not just one but 2 splinters, for the first time in his life. How's he's managed not to get any at all for 5 years, I do not know. The princess has had several since she was little. So she's a bit of an expert on the subject so she shared her experience about splinters with the little man. Made a big effort to assure him it wasn't too bad, there would be no blood but a needle would be requried.
The little man was crying but brave and the first splinter was removed..... Big cheers and woo hoo's!! Then on to the next splinter. This time the little man had stopped shaking and crying and demanded to see to make sure I did it properly. He even giggled.... What a change in just 2 minutes but two splinters were removed and the little man was so proud.
This morning he needed to just go through the splinter story a few times to make sure we all remembered how scared and brave he was!! I of course told him what a big brave boy he was and that he eagerly agreed with.
Not to forget the princess and her part in the big splinter drama last night, I did remember to tell her what a big help she was sharing her experience with her little brother.
Here they are, the brave little man and his helpful big sister.

The Library!
Sounds so serious doesn't it?? It isn't but we did go to the library yesterday. The princess has to read 10 pages a day for school, and we were running out of books. Everyday it's written down on her reading log and signed by me or the daddy depending on who reads with her. When she's read 1000 pages she'll get a diploma at morning assembly. When she's read 5000 pages she'll get a t-shirt. She's already read 510 pages!
She does go to the school library every Thursday with her class but they're only allowed 2 books each, so we ventured to our local library to get more books. I love our library, it's all newly refurbished and very smart. The princess chose a bunch of books for reading and some for us to read for her. The little man found some books as well plus a game for daddy's old Playstation 2. They both picked a couple of dvds too. Films and the game are all quite a few years old but brand new to us.
This is our library where there also is a restaurant, cinema, and a cafe.
Enough about libraries and books.... My mini scooter arrived on Saturday, so Sunday we went for a walk (drive for me). It was fantastic cos the daddy and I could hold hands..... That's something that's been a bit tricky as he's the one pushing me in the wheelchair normally so he has his hands full!!! The princess and little man were riding their bikes and we looked like a 'normal' family! The little man really wanted to try it too and why not so here he is...
Chelsea were playing later hence the little man dressed in all blue!! Matched the scooter though....

The tantrum of ALL tantrums!
This is a guest post by the daddy. After a lot of pressure I caved... I guess you all needed to know!
So there we all were - the 4 of us - excited at the prospect of going to England for Christmas, and Oddparent was at the fulcrum of this delight as she had just booked the tickets.... or had she?!
Well there are 2 answers to this question:
1) Yes she had booked them
2) She had completely messed it up
Instead of us travelling from Calais to Dover, she decided we would be much better off travelling from Dover to Calais! So she either thought that my (currently a work-in-progress) transporter machine would be ready to just magic us to Dover and then sail to Calais, before eventually sailing back to Dover, or......... she got the booking wrong.
Upon the realisation SHE had got it wrong with nobody else to blame, she proceeded in having the Mother of all tantrums! Bashing things about, swearing under her breath, teary-eyed, the lot! I then realised where my children get it from, although I presume they will grow out of it in time... but not Oddparent! She gave it with both barrels!
And to finish off the tantrum, she actually broke our washing basket! Unbelievable!
I obviously stepped in like a true hero, rang the travel company, sorted it all out, no problem. And I didn't even break anything in the process!
When Oddparent had calmed down (4 days later), I ventured into bringing the whole "incident" (as it's now known in our household) up. She told me she's always been like that.... erm what?!!! In 10 years, I've NEVER witnessed this behaviour, so life must've been pretty perfect for the last decade or.... there is a dark side to Oddparent that I'm learning about a mere 3 months after our wedding!
3 MONTHS... coincidence? I'm so disturbed now that I hope she's not looking over my shoulder as i write this.... BANG!

Who's the best mummy.....??
I am! Well, at least today I am. We had pancakes for dinner... how naughty is that? Surely that makes me the best mummy! Even if it's only for a few hours, I hold the title!
We're planning to have a really relaxed weekend (is that something you plan..?) with lazy mornings and we started with a lazy yummy dinner.... Pancakes!!
What are you up to this weekend?
The daddy has asked to do a guest post about tantrums. Apparently it's my tantrums not the childrens'. Don't know what he's on about obviously. I'm still thinking whether he should be allowed to do it. What do you think?

Playdate but what will it lead to...???
With the princess still at mormor's Thursday as well, the little man requested a playdate. He's enjoying the holiday but misses his friends and girlfriend from nursery. Luckily his girlfriend was more than happy to come around to play a couple of hours! The little man proudly showed her how Muffin drinks from the paddling pool and after, how to lift her correctly. At lunch time they asked to watch Charlie and Lola. I have high hopes that this is the one! Look how cute they are....
The daddy picked up the princess later Thursday, she'd been missed very much. It really showed the next morning. The little man waking up a bit before her asking when she would wake up. The secound she woke he snuggled up and was allowed to watch her play on her DSI! I enjoyed every minute.....
By lunchtime they were playing, bickering, playing again like normal....

Tomorrow you'll be 7 years old....
I can't believe my little princess is 7 - where did the time go... You've been so so excited and told us when you went to bed that you probably were gonna wake at one in the morning. Please don't.... Flags are up (in Denmark you decorate with danish flags at all kinds of celebrations) balloons as well, cards on the table and presents are hidden. Just as you requested.
So honey, mummy's off to bed hoping you're not waking at 1am as you were pretty sure you would.

Bickering....
.... bickering, bickering!! All the time, everywhere, in the car, at dinner, at breakfast! It's driving me insane.... (and the daddy too) It's the princess and little man I'm talking about. They have the last few months, started bickering, not proper fighting or arguments, just bickering!
I know it's just how it is, that it'll stop (at least for a while, right? To give us a break?) that they'll get older and wiser. Because they will, won't they?
Then suddenly on a Sunday morning or a Thursday afternoon, they will play in the princess' room. No shouting, crying, bickering at all for more than an hour. Or they will cover the floor in the little mans room with train tracks. The daddy and I will enjoy every moment of the non bickering because it will start again! Hard to believe though when you see them together like this.....
They're planing our Disneyland trip (honeymoon) something they don't seem to bicker about!
Do your kids bicker??

How romantic is this....
Click the link and watch. It's so lovely and had me in tears obviously.... (okay doesn't say much as I'll be in tears over a Lego commercial)

It was my own soulmate and soon-to-be-husband that showed it to me yesterday. His own proposal to me being equally as romantic of course! So romantic in fact that we were so excited to make our Wedding invites, we wrote the wrong date on them!!! Yep, it's true!
http://oddparent.blogspot.com/2011/07/wedding-invitation-oops-date-is-wrong.html
We have managed to get the right date on the invites for the Danish lot though. Now we just have to actually show up at the right date as well. "Hon, what date is it again..??" Ah.. just kidding!

I have found the princess' future husband....
Seriously, I have! I know she's only 6 years old but then it just saves me many years of being worried, her dating and all that! The other day the princess had a friend here to play, a boy her own age. He is the sweetest and cutest little boy (obviously apart from the little man and my soulmate of course). They played so well and were so sweet together. Now I just need to convince and manipulate the princess in to thinking the same and in 20 years time they can marry! Well, that's sorted then!
I wish... Guess that's not quite how things are gonna turn out. Surely I'm not that lucky, am I?

Some of the things I love.......
An Autumn day where the sun is shinning from a clear blue sky but it's so cold you have to wear a hat and gloves!

When my children come inside with bright red cheeks after playing in the garden!

A big cafe latte!
When my 3 year old son sings Incy Wincy Bider to me! ( he can't say sp )
When my 5 year old daughter gets a laughing fit rolling around on the floor!

When my soulmate plays Take That to me on his guitar!
