Christmas is near....

And we're here....

Here in England at Nana's and Papa's where we will be enjoying Christmas with all the family. We've been here since Friday very late as the flight was delayed 2 hours. We've been quite busy since we arrived.
The little man has been to his first football game. The princess, Nana and I went shopping and had a lovely pub lunch. We've played games and had lovely big family dinners already.
So we're more than ready for Christmas now...

It's a kind of Magic.....

The tree arrived in the night. We woke up and there it was with it's lovely lights on and the fairy on the top. The diglots have now decorated it nearly all by them self. Nearly I said....... It's pretty, isn't it?!!

Done...

All ready to put in the postbox tomorrow after school. The little man wrote to Santa in Danish as surely he understands both English and Danish like the little man does,  right!?

A speciel calendar.

Nearly every year I make either a calendar or a book with photos of the kids. Over the years I've used different websites for the task. Some have been better than others.
I've just made a photo calendar with pictures of the children again. It was really easy which I prefer. I get easily annoyed (my husband will confirm that and he was relieved when it didn't happen this time!) if things like that are too complicated. This time I enjoyed it and I'm happily using this Pixum website again, the next time I need to make a photobook or a calender. The calendar arrived today and it's so cool. Each page is really thick and the pictures are good. I took a few photos of it to show you.

Do you do photobooks or calendars with photos on too?

I was given a photocalendar for the purpose if this review.

Halloween, sweets (a lot) and a sleepover.

With his big sister out of the house (she's at a friends for a sleepover) the little man and his mate had no competion in the neighbourhood when they went Trick and Treating earlier. They came back with heavy bags full of all sorts of sweets. They have been sensible and not ate too much. Soon they'll be in bed and I'm hoping it's not 6am wake up.....

How was your Halloween??

Visit from England - Cool uncle D and pretty aunty E came to stay!

It was fun and lovely as always when uncle and aunty came to stay a few days last weekend. No visit without a good and a silly picture which you'll see below.

We had such a great time and played a lot of UNO which nearly ended with a tantrum. Somebody just couldn't seem to win and it could have been dramatic.
No it wasn't any of the children but that's all I'm saying....

He's a skater boy - She's rollerskater girl....

Or something like that.... We don't have a skate place where we live but 40 minuttes away a new place has just opened. We went there today and it was amazing. Here's some pictures....

Just so you know I'm still here.......

Because life is busy. Gymnastic classes after school - Drama classes too. Homework and playdates are often so the blog is not looked after very well. But I'm still here....

Party in the park.

The princess had her 9th Birthday Party for her friends in a nearby park. It's big and there's lots to do and they all had lots of fun.
There's a dummy tree where lots of children all hang their dummies when it's time to give them up. The princess hung hers up (and I threw the rest in the bin) over 6 years ago but look what she spotted on the tree yesteday.....
The little man had a friend with him and they loved playing with the cute little goats....
(sorry about the poor quality of this last picture)

Back to school - 6 weeks of holiday over and out.

A haircut was needed the diglots thought and now they also decided I have no say in the length.... Well, they look cool and are happy so lets leave, right?!

The Wedding!

Our dear friends got married on Saturday and we were there. We flew in from Denmark early in the morning, got our hire car and drove to the hotel. It took a while as my dear husband was so scared of harming the hire car....
We had plenty of time to kill though so a bit of shopping was done. Got myself a pair of shoes and some sunglasses. Oh, we of course got lots of little things for the little man and the princess who we had left in Denmark with mormor (my mum) too. After a big plate of English breakfast and the shopping, we found the village and the hotel. Such a lovely place, our room was behind the green door.
The ceremony was lovely and after we sat in the garden having drinks and nibbles. Dinner was ready - an amazing bbq and dessert was an icecream van (yes I of course did not get a picture of it) and cupcakes. Absolutely amazing.
We were back in Denmark again Sunday night after 36 hours in England and a wonderful time at a fantastisc Wedding.

Disney The Little Mermaid.

We saw the musical last Saturday in the Opera House in Copenhagen. It was AMAZING. When it finished we all stood clapping and cheering for several minutes. The kids loved it and so did we.

Here's the daddy and the diglots waiting outside the Opera House. Not sure if they thought Ariel would come out of the water.....
Actually they were probably looking at Amalienborg (where the Danish Queen lives) as it was just across from the Opera House.
Finally in our seats and waiting for it all to start.....
If you visit Copenhagen in the next month or so you should go see it. It's amazing!

The daddy's cakes!

They are yummy with icing on top and jam inside. They were made for the princess' early Birthday celebration yesterday. Everybody loved them and the daddy is now under pressure to make some more as soon as possible....
Want to see them??

Summer holiday is good....

We are relaxing and enjoying that we don't have to get up in the morning. Well, the daddy doesn't - somebody has to work, right?!!
He'll soon have holiday too though and then we're off to Sweden, to Copenhagen to see The Little Mermaid at the Opera and to visit friends we see way too little off. A trip to Germany and a Wedding in England is also on the holiday program but until the daddy is off, the diglots and I are relaxing and enjoying just being at home having no plans....

The weather has been okay so dinner outside and playing in the garden after has been possible. A bit of gymnastics is always fun, isn't it?

Thursday, 3 July 2014

Way too long ago since I've been here....

Time just seem to pass way too fast at the moment. The schools have broken up for the summer - we're nearly a whole week into their first week of their schoolholiday. We are just relaxing and doing as little as possible this week as we started the weekend by suprising the princess and little man. The daddy had been to England and we picked him up in the Airport Saturday. Right next door to the Airport (Billund Airport that is so you know if you're planing to come) is Legoland! They had no idea we were going until we pulled up at the carpark..... Lots of excited screams....
They weather here has been really nice (and dry) and the World Cup is on so the diglots thought drawing lots and lots of flags outside were a brilliant idea....
It was and lots of fun too - 2 days later it rained (first time in over a week) and now they can start over again. It's a fulltime job!

The daddy was playing his last football game before the summer break the other night and of course we went to see it. The diglots sat for around 5 minuttes then other things needed to be done.... Such as running and playing-having-a-bad-leg-need-mummy's-stick-game.
I'll try not be a whole month before updating again but I can't promise anything.

She jumped.....

We went swimming again today.  Well, I'm just watching but the daddy, the little man and the princess did the swimming.  Both kids are now  confident swimmers enough to be in the deep end. Both loves jumping from the diveboards. You've seen the picture  of the little man jumping of the 1 meter. Here's the princess jumping off the 3 meter high divingboard.

He didn't like it for a long time.....

Now he has no fear and can't get enough... Oh, better mention what it's all about, don't I?
It's swimming. When the little man was little and up to the age of 3ish he did not like going swimming. He'd happily play in the bath at home but take him to the swimmingpool and he'd scream the place down.... Suddenly that changed and ever since he has been going often with the daddy. When he started school last year he started swimming every week. It's a totally fearless boy the daddy takes swimming now.

The skating continues

The little man decided he needed a big skateboard now so he spent all his pocket money on one... The princess thought she better get one as well so she spent her pocket money on one too...
The daddy took them to the path behind our garden to introduce the princess to the skating world. It's still unknown to us (and herself I think) why she wanted a skateboard. But maybe she'll go from being a princess to a skater girl soon... who knows? The daddy got to show off a bit of his skater skills whilst teaching his daughter. Think he was well happy that he was better than her as the little man soon, if not already, is better than him...
It only took a few minutes for the little man to get used to the bigger skateboard and then he didn't need the daddy's advice anymore! Now we just need to find out where the closest good skatepark is.

Football boy...

Seems to be all about the little man at the moment...
Well, he still lets me take photos of him playing without complaining so maybe that's why. In between practicing his skating on his little ramp our garden he plays footy. He preferes to be in goal....
Yesterday his friend and him played in the lovely sunshine we have at moment for a long time.

Skater boy!

The little man loves skating and when we were on holiday at Nana and Papas over Easter we went to London one of the days. Alexandra Palace has a nice skatepark and lovely green areas where we could sit and have our picnic.
We met with some good friends and stayed the whole day, the princess playing with their daughter nearly the same age, us adults chatting and the little man skating.
The older boys at the skatepark gave him advice, let him try their skateboards and were just so cool. The little man had a blast and hasn't stopped talking about it...
Here are some photos of my cool little skater boy!

Nurses from all over Europe and me...

I went to Copenhagen this week to speak to a lot of MS Nurses about clinical trials as a patient of MS.

It was cool and everyone was really nice and asked lots of questions. I love that I can make a difference by doing such things - or I hope I'm making a difference...

I also enjoyed the train trip back with my latte and fantastic book.

Sunday, 30 March 2014

Look who we met yesterday....

We were at a 70th Birthday Party last night and this guy came. The daddy and little man thought they'd better get in the photo with him....

Saturday, 22 March 2014

She got her bag and her hair done ready to party...

The two things have nothing to do with each other but I got your attention, didn't I? Anyway, Thursday, at morning assembly at school the headmaster handed over the bag, said well done and everyone clapped. 10,000 pages read in 2nd grade is worthy to be proud of.
Last night the princess was off to a disco birthday party at one of her school friend's house. She was very excited and very tired when the daddy picked up. Apparently there had been a lot of dancing....

Tuesday, 18 March 2014

Yet another fun afternoon at the library.

The little man headed straight for the iPad. The princess for the art table but soon after the little man  joined her. The princess found new books to read. She has at this exact moment read 9961 pages and will tomorrow reach the 10.000 pages mark which means that Tuesday next week at morning assembly the Headmaster will hand over a backpack and say well done. I'll show pictures of that next week.

What day is it?? It's Pancake Day!

It's actually just a normal Tuesday in Denmark but as 3 out of 4 members are born in London, I do think we can get away with celebrating it!
So there will be pancakes as an afternoon snack and again for dinner. Who's the best mummy?? I know.....;)

Half term fun!

Sunday we went out for dinner at a very nice (very child-friendly) place and had lovely dinner. They did have a proper dinner first before their ice cream despite what the pictures might look like.....

Monday we went to Dinoland which is not a land of dinosaurs even though it might sound like it. No, it's a softplay and there is however real look-a-like dinosaurs. They just expanded so there were lots of new things to explore.
Today we went to our new Frozen Yogurt place in town and joined in their balloon party. The children had to count the balloons or at least guess how many balloons. That done, the diglots had a lovely Frozen Yogurt.
What we are up to tomorrow?? Well, the princess has a playdate and the little man and I will find something fun to do, I'm sure. We can always tidy and clean.
Not fun for a child, would you say??
