Cupcakes on a rainy Satuday.
Saturday it rained and rained. The princess and the daddy decided that baking would be a great thing. They went for cupcakes. Here's their very fine cupcakes ready to eat. Can you guess which ones the prinsess decorated??
We have a Bank Holiday coming up this Friday. Can't wait for a day off. We've booked cinema tickets and going to see The Junglebook Friday afternoon.
Have a lovely Wednesday where ever you are!

Birthdays with only a month apart.
(år means year)
We won this lovely Birthday cake from our local bakery. My sister and mum had entered the princess and little man in a compatition in the local paper. We were able to pick it up the day the little man had his Birthday party. How lucky is that!
The cake was meant for both children as their Birthdays are only a month apart. The little man got to blow out the candles though. His big sister is way to cool for doing that now she's 10 apparently.
The cake is normal sponge cake with melted brown sugar on top as well as marcipan, icing and lots of sweets. It's a very traditional Danish Birthday cake but Nana and Papa who was over from England loved it too. Nana got the recipe of the internet so she can attempt to bake one back in England. We will look forward to that next time we visit.
Have a lovely Sunday.

The daddy's cakes!
They are yummy with icing on top and jam inside. They were made for the princess' early Birthday celebration yesterday. Everybody loved them and the daddy is now under pressure to make some more as soon as possible....
Want to see them??

We're all in this together....
Just look at the concentration... The princess, her best friend, the daddy and the little man all worked together to make the cake.

Birthday cake...
My friend had her 40th birthday party yesterday and we all went... Look at this fantastic cake! Her mum had made it for her. A wine barrel, grapes, 2 glasses of wine and cheese. Inside was the nicest chocolate cake...

The daddy's gingerbread men....
Or should I say gingerbread ducks, aeroplanes and cars as well. Because it was all sorts of shapes he got the princess and little man to help him make today. After dinner they gathered in the kitchen to try and make their own gingerbread dough. The daddy bossing his offspring around like some cakeguru, which I guess they're starting to believe he actually is....
Well, it all went well and they were all very pleased with their effort and the end result!

Who said anything about child labour....
I thought the trampoline looked like it was a bit troubled by all the snow we've got. So why not send the princess and her friend out to get all the snow off it. It's fun, isn't it girls?? When you're finished, come in a have some lemonade and crisps.
They were thrilled, worked hard and no doubt had a lot of fun. I could tell from the loud giggles!
No, the red cheeks are not because she's been outside for hours... That's makeup, a girls best friend, which you should never leave the house without! Not even if all you're doing outside is removing snow from a trampoline!!
While the girls wereworking hard having fun, the little man and the daddy went down town to spend the little man's coin from the tooth fairy. And to have a break at the bakery cafe and eat donuts.

The daddy has just descovered our kitchen.....
.... and also an app on his phone called reciepes! It's mainly the cake recipes he looks up! He has so far made banana bread, fudge (which was a flop and couldn't be eaten) and today he has just made chocolate chip cookies! They look yummy, don't they??
We had friends around yesterday and they liked his banana bread (phew... I don't think he would have let them leave if they'd said otherwise), the daddy was praised for his effort and was one very happy man!!
Today morfar (grandad) and his wife came to give the princess and the little man their Christmas presents. We're spending Christmas in England this year so we have pre Christmas before we leave. I really like that as we don't have to take the presents from the Danish lot back and forward plus the princess and little man get to enjoy their presents a bit more, having them spread out like that! This way the Danish lot get to enjoy the children excitedly opening their presents. Also no doubt there'll still be lots of presents in England under Nana & Papa's tree. Thanks to online shopping, all our presents for everyone are already safely waiting for us at Nana & Papa's house, ready to get wrapped. It's a win win situation, isn't it??
Do you bring the presents back and forward if you travel to see family for Christmas??

Cake and the daddy's donuts...
Phew.... The princess didn't wake up before 5.15am on her birthday on friday. That's still way to early but lets face it, she was soooo excited. Apparently turning 7 is so amazing it also reqires jumping up and down. She easily found her presents which we had hid (her request) and the dress she had wished for was one off them! Rapunzel's... and her hair, well of course not all of it!
She knew excactly how she wanted her cake to look like so pressure was on to make it excactly right. She helped me and was happy with the result. Phew... After the daddy has bought us (as in himself) a donut maker, he makes them every time he has a chance. You'll be asked how good they are... So no birthday without the daddy's donuts. Fair enough, he made loads and was also making sure all the guests told him excactly how good they thought they were....
Would you like a donut??

Tomorrow you'll be 7 years old....
I can't believe my little princess is 7 - where did the time go... You've been so so excited and told us when you went to bed that you probably were gonna wake at one in the morning. Please don't.... Flags are up (in Denmark you decorate with danish flags at all kinds of celebrations) balloons as well, cards on the table and presents are hidden. Just as you requested.
So honey, mummy's off to bed hoping you're not waking at 1am as you were pretty sure you would.

My sister makes the best cakes.....
We went around to hers earlier today to celebrate her birthday. The princess and the daddy had 2 pieces each of this delicious cake....
Tomorrow the princess and little man are off to my sisters again. They'll be spoilt and have fun while the daddy and I do some shopping for the Wedding.... Kerching, another tick off our list can be done!
What are you up to this weekend?
