Look who we met yesterday....

We were at a 70th Birthday Party last night and this guy came. The daddy and little man thought they'd better get in the photo with him....

She got her bag and her hair done ready to party...

The two things have nothing to do with each other but I got your attention, didn't I? Anyway, Thursday, at morning assembly at school the headmaster handed over the bag, said well done and everyone clapped. 10,000 pages read in 2nd grade is worthy to be proud of.
Last night the princess was off to a disco birthday party at one of her school friend's house. She was very excited and very tired when the daddy picked up. Apparently there had been a lot of dancing....

Elvis came and went....

And he did soooo well both at the dress rehearsal Wednesday and at the big night Friday. The little man aka  "Elvis" mimed and danced to Jailhouse Rock in front of 300 people. He was brilliant! After the show Friday there was a party and the little man and princess danced the night away or until it finished at 8pm!

Birthday presents, so many and more to come....

The little man got lots of presents on his birthday and there was a lot of excited screams as he opened them. There will be more pressies on Sunday when the little man's class come for his birthday party. 3 hours of mayhem, treasure hunts and games - this time at our house. The princess is very excited as she is helping with it all and feels very important.
Cool uncle D and pretty aunty E gave him goalkeeper gloves.... Great uncle and aunty gave him a very cool leather football! He is one very happy boy.

The party that went well....

The princess and her best friend wanted to have a birthday party for everyone in their class. Both of them have their birthday while it's school holiday so they were desperate to have the party as soon as they were back to school.
Today was the day. They decorated the cupcakes themself and the marsmallows on sticks got dipped in chocolate and sprinkles. We (us parents) hid the treassure chest and made a map. They had 4 posts to find and a task to do at each post before finding the treats. One task made the girls scream with horror... The boys had to put nail vanish on them! They did an okay great job, the boys.

They had a great party and they were two very happy girls when all had gone home. Tired yes, but happy!

And here she is....

My little red indian girl ready for her fastelavns party at school. She was so so excited this morning and she looked so sweet and cool, don't you think??

Today is also the start of half term here. The little man and the princess have the whole of next week off. Nana and Papa are coming to stay for most of the week, yeah!!! We can't wait. Nana has promised to bring rubarb/custard hard-boiled sweets for me, chocolate stars and magazines for the others... She always spoils us!

And I sure need spoiling because I'm struggling here.... I have a stomach ache, easily tear up and not sure how I'll cope! Me, dramatic?? No, no this is tough guys!! The little man starts school the 1st March. Argh my little boy starts school, he's all grown up, not needing his mummy very much and no way does he let me kiss him in public. What do I do....!?!

It's party time.....

Friday night from 5pm to 9pm it was party time! The princess' school was having a schoolparty. There was popcorn, slush ice, cake, pizza and a disco. The princess had been looking forward to this for weeks, gone through various dresses she wanted to wear but ended up playing it safe with a classic black dress.... She did indeed look very cute.

She danced the night away and had a great time....

An end to all the Christmas parties.....

Thursday night was the last of the many Christmas shenanigans we've been running to all week. For some reason all the Christmas parties etc. land in one week but on a positive note, then it's done and we can relax!
Anyway, Thursday the princess and 2 other girls from her class were singing, something she'd really been looking forward to! Sorry the quality is not great on the pictures, we were too far away.

She was so cool and all three of them were very sweet singing their hearts out! There were lots of other perfomances and the little man got a bit fidgety and decided to overlook it all form the top......
Friday morning it was two tired children who were woken by an equally tired mummy..... But now we can relax and enjoy the weekend. Today with playdates, tomorrow in the house as the weatherman has promised a big snowstorm will hit us!! I don't mind so much as long as it's calmed down on monday and the snow is cleared off the roads.

What are you up to this weekend??

You could join the blog hop over here...

Now with a 5 year old in the house again.

The little man turned 5 yesterday. He had a fantastic day with lots of presents, cake, the daddy's homemade donuts and MacDonalds for dinner.
He got lots of Lego so the daddy and him have been building a lot. He's really good at taking instructions and patiently wait for the daddy to explain. Now we need to find out where he can keep it displayed with easy access for him to play with it.
Time to blow out all 5 candles..... Mormor (grandma) giving a helping hand!!
Everyone shouting hurray 4 times whispering, and the fifth very loudly... The look on his face looks like he's laughing with embarrasment. Hmm, maybe he is....
Being 3 years old and experiencing a Danish birthday celebration for the first time, in a language that mostly sounds like absolute nonsense, is probably quite strange. I think the look on the little man and princess' little cousin's face says it all, don't you??

When I was saying goodnight to the little man tonight he said: "I can't believe I'm 5!" He has really looked forward to his birthday this year.

Tomorrow you'll be 7 years old....

I can't believe my little princess is 7 - where did the time go... You've been so so excited and told us when you went to bed that you probably were gonna wake at one in the morning. Please don't.... Flags are up (in Denmark you decorate with danish flags at all kinds of celebrations) balloons as well, cards on the table and presents are hidden. Just as you requested.
So honey, mummy's off to bed hoping you're not waking at 1am as you were pretty sure you would.

A speech, a rose, a diploma, a cuddle and very proud little girl!

Last night the princess' class had a goodbye party at school, it was just her class and all us parents. There's still 2 weeks before the school holiday starts but it was nice it was yesterday so we got to chat to the other parents before holiday starts. It was so lovely, their fantastic teacher had prepared a personal speech for each child and they were sat one after one in a golden chair whilst they had their speech, a diploma, a rose and a big cuddle. The princess was a bit shy but so proud!
We had all brought in a dish of some kind of dinner and it was all put on a big buffet. The children didn't sit down for long, let alone eat much! Having the whole school to themselves was too exciting not to explore. So the evening was spent running around playing hiding games while us parents chatted and enjoyed the food! When the evening ended there were 2 tired little people in the back of the car... didn't make them sleep in this morning though.... Wonder if that will ever happen!!

Do your children sleep in when up later than their normal bedtime??

Just Married......

Yes, we are and we had such a fantastic day just the way we wanted it to be.
I'll let the pictures do the talking.....

I won again....

I feel so lucky. I never win anything, I know.... We all say that but honestly I don't and then just before Christmas I won a secret packet. This time I won this at http://danskewebchicks.blogspot.com sponsored by http://www.kirkesjov.blogspot.com/ It's so cute, I just love it!

The princess and little man love it too and straight away found things they wanted in it.

About friday night's post, look at my little cowgirl... How cute is she? Ready to go to her friend's birthday party yesterday. She did have a change of heart before she left. The hat was too big to bring she felt! So a last minute hair do had to be done. A side-ponytail was made and off she went in her new boots!

Friday, 13 January 2012

"These boots are made for walking"

... quite right that is. Not made for running though but try telling a child that! Anyway they are very cool and my sister and I both stopped and reached for them. Red, bright red cowboy-looking boots and in little sizes. The princess has the best moster (aunty) because she could not leave the shop without buying these red boots for her niece.
The boots have not been off the princess' feet ever since she got them and right now they're next to her bed (please see the first picture!) She's getting her beauty sleep now so she can be ready for her friend's birthday party tommorrow, of course wearing her new boots.
So without further ado here's the boots....

What celebrity would you invite to Christmas dinner?

You can only choose one. Without hesitation the daddy answered Jim Carey. Reason? He would annoy half the people at the table, the other half finding him hilarious! The daddy obviously being part of the last half.

Who would I like to have around for Christmas dinner? I cannot answer just like that.... It takes a lot of consideration! Do I choose an actor/actress? Or footballer? Singer? Honestly this is not easy. No, I have to go for funny. Therefore... Phil Dunphy, the dad in Modern Family, I would invite. Yes, the character. Reason? He's so funny.

What celebrity would you invite over for Christmas dinner and why?

Friday, 2 December 2011

"All I want for Christmas is me 2 front teeth!"

Yep the second one fell out today (about time as it has been hanging in one tiny thread for a while) and the princess now looks like this.
By the way, she still got all her hair despite my concern yesterday at the Lucia party at school. All 29 children walked carefully and very proudly with their candles.
So concentrated she was that she forgot to sing (and smile) but so cute though!
