The Queen of Denmark is coming to town!

No, not as a guest to our wedding this Saturday even though I'm only 2 people away from her! The Mayor who will marry us on Saturday 2nd of June and who I sat next to at my nephew's 18th, is meeting the Queen for the 2nd time on Friday the 8th of June. Here in our little town.... That's pretty amazing, eh...!!? We'll be there to wave of course. Here she is, the Queen of  Denmark....

Finally.... We're sooooooooooo excited!!!

It's nearly like Christmas today, really it is. We're so so excited and I'm not exaggerating! I know you're bursting to know what I'm on about, aren't you..... Well here goes!

We finally got an Indian Take Away in the town we live in!! Yep, that's absolutely huge....
I'm sure that for people not living Denmark this is not big news and when we lived in London, we had an Indian on every street corner, so I do understand that. We've missed Indian Take Aways so much for nearly 5 years now, only having them in England when on holiday there.

Why not just cook indian food myself? Well, I do do that sometimes but it's not the same...!

The daddy came back with veggie samosas, veggie pakoras, chicken tikka massala, plain and garlic naans. Yummy yummy yummy.....

It was so delicious and we even have a bit of left overs for tomorrow.

Do you eat Indian?

Eurovision..... are you a fan?

Ah... I used to be. I loved it as a child. My dad would record all the songs directly from the TV on to a tape so I could listen to it straight away. I would the next day in only a few hours be able to sing all the songs in their origional language. Cos this was back when every country still sang only in their own language! I mastered Greek, Dutch, French, German, Spanish, Italian and many more! Amazing, right? So much we learned from the Eurovision back then.... (my parents certainly learned to fake smile when I sang my heart out, in what was supposed to be Greek)
No, I'm not ashamed to admit I was a fan! (I actually might still be a bit...)

Now everyone sings in English and some of the songs are really good! Maybe too good cos it seems like it's frowned upon a bit. It's certainly not the good songs that win.

Here's the Danish song and as you can't vote for your own country maybe some of you will vote for our little country. No, I'm not paid to say this! Just a thought as I actually really like the song...

Do you like it?

Once again....

Denmark has been awarded with the title Happiest People in World! Wow, we still live in the happiest country in the world... I don't know how  it's messured but it must be true when it's all over the news, right?
Hmmm... Today it has been true so far. Most of the parents at school and nursery said "morning" back when I said morning to them. I can assure you, that does not happen every morning. The postman coming out of the door at the physio also smiled and said morning back. Most of the people in the waiting area at the physio smiled back when I smiled and said morning. The lady at the check out in the supermarket was chatting away and wished me a lovely day. My answer of course being "Thank you and a lovely day to you too"
Don't get me wrong, I am proud of living in a country with apparently the happpist people in the world. I'm a happy person even when the weather is bad. So is my British very-soon-to-be-husband (11days to go) but he was very happpy, as was I, when we lived in London too. Sorry London for taking some happiness with me when we moved to Denmark. Maybe that's why we're so happy here... We apparently find happy people in other countries and bring them here! Hmmm, that's cheating isn't it??

The princess and little man are defo the happiest children!

My sister makes the best cakes.....

We went around to hers earlier today to celebrate her birthday. The princess and the daddy had 2 pieces each of this delicious cake....
Tomorrow the princess and little man are off to my sisters again. They'll be spoilt and have fun while the daddy and I do some shopping for the Wedding.... Kerching, another tick off our list can be done!

What are you up to this weekend?

Bank Holiday and Goodbye!

Today we're all at home enjoying that it's a bank Holiday. Sadly, Nana's leaving later today going back to England but on a positive note.... we already see her again in just over 2 weeks for the wedding, yes, our wedding! Are we ready? Yes, I think so. I'll let you know closer to the date!

Last night we played pairs. Everytime Nana doesn't get a pair she goes "Ah poo..." Making the princess and little man laugh their head off!

Powerful adverts on TV!

I am not able to watch this without tears rolling down my cheeks....
Just watch her little shiver at the end! Amazing advert, I'll buy their nappies and I don't even have children in nappies anymore....

36 hours.

Is the amount of hours I spent away from the princess, little man and the daddy. I missed them so much but luckily I was busy so the time went quickly.
The company I write for had booked all of us bloggers in at The Hilton Hotel at Copenhagen Airport. It was the easiest when we come from 4 different countries I guess. I must admit I loved it and I enjoyed a good nights sleep. The hotel was amazing and the food absolutely fantastic. Oh, the meeting was good as well! We came up with quite a few new features for the blog, new ways to do things etc. It's always nice when we meet for our yearly meeting. Some of us have been writing here for 3 years now.

I did ache to get back home though.

"She obviously doesn't get it from us!"

We went for the princess' second parents evening this school year the other week, and like in November last year it was all praise! She can write more words than required, she thinks out of the box when given a problem to solve, her maths is ahead of what's required, she's a happy and popular girl. Very proud parents we are but also slightly baffled like we were in November....(read)

It's probably not inherited (apart from the looks of course, ha ha.....)

Bickering....

.... bickering, bickering!! All the time, everywhere, in the car, at dinner, at breakfast! It's driving me insane.... (and the daddy too) It's the princess and little man I'm talking about. They have the last few months, started bickering, not proper fighting or arguments, just bickering!
I know it's just how it is, that it'll stop (at least for a while, right? To give us a break?) that they'll get older and wiser. Because they will, won't they?
Then suddenly on a Sunday morning or a Thursday afternoon, they will play in the princess' room. No shouting, crying, bickering at all for more than an hour. Or they will cover the floor in the little mans room with train tracks. The daddy and I will enjoy every moment of the non bickering because it will start again! Hard to believe though when you see them together like this.....

They're planing our Disneyland trip (honeymoon) something they don't seem to bicker about!

Do your kids bicker??

Mr Sulk.

Drawings by the princess. Story by pApA.

No matter what you did or what you said, it was impossible to get into the good books of Mr Sulk.
He didn't like anyone to think they were better than him and even if he found that someone had done a good deed, his face would drop and he would go off into a corner (always on the left) and that's right - sulk!

Why?

Because he hadn't thought about the good deed first and that annoyed him.

One day, it was a particularly bad sulk day, he was walking to the Post Office to buy some stamps, so he could send off a letter of complaint. He was always complaining. He met Mr Clever and for Mr Clever it was a particularly clever day.

Mr Clever told Mr Sulk that he had been very clever and had bought lots of stamps last week before the postage costs go up and with his little clever smile said "I'm sure you were clever enough to do the same thing!"

Mr Sulk gave a great big sulky frown and proceeded to the Post Office, one of many things that irritated Mr Sulk was to be made look foolish.

When he got to the Post Office he immediately checked the price of stamps. Only to be told by Miss Postie that today the price of stamps had gone up.
Mr Sulk frowned and immediately complained and said he would write to the Head of the Post Office to complain. So, yet another Mr Sulk letter of complaint!

Miss Postie, who was very tired of Mr Sulk's sulks said what a good idea that was , then asked Mr Sulk whether he needed any stamps for his letter of complaint?

Mr Sulk rudely said "Of course I do, how else can I send a letter of complaint?"

Miss Postie tittered to herself and quietly said to Mr Sulk "Well, you will have to pay the new price, do you want a 1st class or a 2nd class stamp?"

Oh dear Mr Sulk was so annoyed - he went into the left hand corner of the Post office, sat on the floor and guess what?

That's right, he sulked!

(Please don't copy text or use the drawings without asking me first. Thank you)

Little monkeys....

Yes, it was grey! Yes it was cold! But it certainly didn't stop them having fun....

Is that all we get?

Of sunshine and nice warm weather...? Seems like it for now. The last week here has been so lovely with the sun shining from a clear blue sky. We have tried to make the most of it and have been outside enjoying it everyday. Yesterday for dinner we had our first BBQ and the second time in a week we had dinner outside... We even had to have the parasols up, too hot in the sun!

This morning it looks grey and windy but hopefully it stays dry.  It's a bank holiday here today so we're off to a big park with bikes, slides, climbing frames and lots more. The little man and princess are so excited! So please mr weatherman, don't spoil the fun.....

After rain comes sun....

Or at least that's what happened here. Monday was as warm and sunny as Sunday had been grey and rainy!! Our neighbour was moving yesterday and came to tell us they had a few things we could have if interested. Of course we were and the princess and little man were thrilled when they saw what it was....

Think the daddy was the most excited about this...

The last day of April was the first day we have had dinner outside this year so far. Hopefully there will be many more to come...

It was a cheeky it's-pay-day-take-away dinner we had! Pizza with lots of fresh salad, tomatoes, cucumber and spring onions. A nice summery meal!
