Saturday 23 February 2013

Half term nearly is over but boy it has been a good one.....

We have really enjoyed half term! There's been sleepovers, lots of relaxing, bowling, cooking, baking and lots more. We started all the fun last Friday dropping the children off to mormor (grandma) where the little man was staying over night being spoilt rotten. Then the princess went to moster (aunty) to stay over night and also was spoilt rotten. Both of them happy to see the back of their mummy and daddy...

Back home it was seriously quiet and calm! What do we do for dinner?? Hmmmm.... Think McDonalds would be in it's place (don't judge us) as long as we throw the wrapping in the big outdoor bin. Why...?? Well, just so the children don't know we had McDonalds of course!!
After a long lovely sleep and a sleep-in til 8 o'clock, we went to pick the little man and the princess up. And boy had they been spoilt, and not at all missed their mummy and daddy!

Saturday and Sunday we relaxed and relaxed some more! Played games, watched films, ate cookies and relaxed even more....

Monday playdates, Tuesday Nana arrived, Wednesday a trip to the Library and I had an interview over the phone with a newspaper about MS, later they sent a photographer to make a little film and take photos, Thursday Papa arrived and the daddy had the day off, Friday we all went bowling and again the daddy had the day off, Saturday (as in today) the princess and little man had playdates and tomorrow it's Sunday - last day of half term, Nana and Papa go back to England and we go back to reality.

What have you been up to at half term??

Not finished with Mario yet....

Since Monday when the little man had his Fastelavn party at nursery, he has asked to wear his Mario outfit every day. So when back from nursery, Mario has appeared and so it was on Friday as well. The princess had her Fastelavn party at school and went as a red indian girl.

My colleague from the MS Blog I write, is making a book which I have written a piece for too. He was coming around on Friday to take some photos of the children and me. As the princess was dressed up the little man also insisted to be Mario of course. So me hoping for some lovely photos with the children and me became the red indian girl, Mario and me! He took a lot of photos! The photos were all lovely, this being my favourite...

This is his webpage (in Danish but the photos are lovely) !!

And here she is....

My little red indian girl ready for her fastelavns party at school. She was so so excited this morning and she looked so sweet and cool, don't you think??

Today is also the start of half term here. The little man and the princess have the whole of next week off. Nana and Papa are coming to stay for most of the week, yeah!!! We can't wait. Nana has promised to bring rubarb/custard hard-boiled sweets for me, chocolate stars and magazines for the others... She always spoils us!

And I sure need spoiling because I'm struggling here.... I have a stomach ache, easily tear up and not sure how I'll cope! Me, dramatic?? No, no this is tough guys!! The little man starts school the 1st March. Argh my little boy starts school, he's all grown up, not needing his mummy very much and no way does he let me kiss him in public. What do I do....!?!

Mario....

That's what the little man choose to dress up as! Monday the nursery celebrated fastelavn and the little man was very excited. He arrived at nursery to meet all his friends also all dressed up. There were a lot of princesses, superheroes, a dragon, Tigger and drumroll please.....  Mario!

Cute isn't he....??

It's party time.....

Friday night from 5pm to 9pm it was party time! The princess' school was having a schoolparty. There was popcorn, slush ice, cake, pizza and a disco. The princess had been looking forward to this for weeks, gone through various dresses she wanted to wear but ended up playing it safe with a classic black dress.... She did indeed look very cute.

She danced the night away and had a great time....

The daddy's gingerbread men....

Or should I say gingerbread ducks, aeroplanes and cars as well. Because it was all sorts of shapes he got the princess and little man to help him make today. After dinner they gathered in the kitchen to try and make their own gingerbread dough. The daddy bossing his offspring around like some cakeguru, which I guess they're starting to believe he actually is....
Well, it all went well and they were all very pleased with their effort and the end result!

They hadn't thought it through....

That's the little man and a few other boys at nursery I'm talking about. It's still quite cold here so the children are all wrapped up in skiing clothes and big gloves when they're outside playing. The little man and his little friends thought they found the solution to their hands being cold even with gloves on!!

They went in to the bathroom and filled their gloves with warm water which I'm pretty sure they thought was a very good idea.... 10 minutes later they weren't so sure!! The teacher couldn't help laughing when she told me, and the daddy and I thought it was hilarious... They weren't told off as they probably learnt their lesson without adult help!

Another one of his good ideas.... Here is the little man, helping me baking with his tiger ears, tail and nose on, the nose not quite in the right place but who cares.

Roll away, skater boy!!!

Today the sun looked at us from a clear blue sky. It was cold but we wrapped up and went out anyway.... The princess on her roller blades and the little man on his skate board. We took their scooters too and what luck because then the daddy felt he needed to show some of his skills too. Not that the princess, little man and I were impressed but he doesn't need to know that, does he??

The little man saw no need to take his helmet or albow pads off when he went climbing. I thought "how thoughtful of him" so I didn't have to worry if he fell down....
