" I don't care what the weatherman says, when the weatherman says it's raining "

Honestly I don't! I do care though, when the weatherman keeps saying it's gonna snow! We woke up to more snow slowly falling from the sky.... Pretty sight, yes sure but what a hassle when snow needs to be moved so the daddy and little man can go swimming.
The princess wanted to go outside but only if I would come too. Okay then, I will! Boots, skiing trousers and jacket, hats, gloves. 20 minutes later we're ready to go out! Snows is actually lovely when I only have to stay in the garden so I enjoyed it and the silence snow brings. It's like it muffles all the sounds.

Secretely tasting the snow.... Hopefully it's not yellow!
Snow covered trampoline but fun to jump on!

Tea, homemade buns and a film are needed after playing in the snow! She's watching Robots which can be highly recommended if you haven't seen it yet.
Right weatherman, you've had your snow-fun now. Make it stop, please!

"When will it snow mummy?"

"I don't know" Which always make them both respond: "Then Google it!" The snow-question, the princess and little man have asked a lot lately. Last winter we had snow from November until February, this year we've had none. Suits me fine, I'm not a fan with bad legs, the stick and all!
But look what we woke up to this morning....

The daddy had just gone to work leaving this little dry spot in the driveway. The princess and little man were so excited to see it had finally snowed.... It was very easy to get them ready well in time and out of the door this morning. They were excitedly chatting in the back of the car all the way to school and nursery. I'm not happy driving in this weather, the roads were like soap. We managed though without ending in a ditch.... Snowball fights were already being played at school, at nursery the little ones were pressing their noses against the windows, waiting to go outside!
Sitting inside now with bread in the oven writing this, the snow looks beautiful. In a couple of hours when I go to pick up from school and nursery, I might not think it's beautiful anymore! But for now.....

Singing fills our home more than normal....

The princess has a show at school coming up in a few weeks. They need to learn a few songs so she's rehearsing a lot. She sings her heart out and (luckily... or should I say of course!) she's in tune. Makes it a whole lot easier to listen to! It's a nice mixture of songs from different eras and her costume is a baby-pink very princessy dress which she loves. I can't wait to see the show which will be performed at the school's yearly party for all the students, and for the youngest ones also their parents.
Tears will be flowing (yes mine) and I'll be beaming with pride. I know she'll be amazing, it's in her genes! The daddy and I (I can't read a note) consider ourselves good singers (the daddy's a brilliant singer, I was asked to add) so of course she'll be fantastic. Am I too much? Too much pressure....? No, she can handle it, but if she doesn't.....

Wedding planning started.

Looks messy but actually it's called organised mess! We thought we'd better start seriously planning the wedding. We have done a bit, Honeymoon is booked, Mayor is booked to do the ceromony, place where we party is booked and a cool car to drive us is sorted. Today I rang the place we want the food from. Hmm... they have gone out of business. Right, still in good time, no need to panic yet so the search for a new place has started. Last night we did manage to do the tables, who sits with who. It was suprisingly easy and actually quite fun.

Old and big tummies!

.... is the description of me apparently if you ask the little man. He's quite obsessed with my, okay let's be honest, rather large sponge like tummy at the moment. Of course him and his sister are to blame... They were in there doing lots of kicking! 9 months of kicking each they did, I have explained to them, that makes a tummy look like mine!
Today we had one of the princess' little friends here to play. She stayed for dinner and her, the princess and little man talked about big tummies. All agreed it also had to do with being old whether your tummy is big.
Conclusion then: I'm old and have a rather large tummy! Glad we got that established, lets move on and never have this discussion again. Also, I can't bare to tell them they're of course wrong, well at least about the old thing they are. I still look 25!

Bring on the imagination!

As I wrote in the post Ah.. that sweet love! earlier this week, the little man is a big fan of Toy Story and especially Jessie. We all love Toy Story and the princess and little man both have collected quite a few of the toys. The little man was allowed to hold Jessie while the photo was taken. Look at his little proud face!
Yesterday the little man spend the last of his Christmas money. He bought Mr Prickle Pants! He can't say his name without giggling.
The princess spent her pocket money yesterday on Slinky. The big one! She's had her eye on him for a while and now he was on special (don't we all love a good bargain) it was time to get him!
Today when the daddy and the princess went swimming, the little man went into Toy Story mode. I was not needed while he played. He changed his voice after every character, even said lines from the movies. He didn't notice me, was completely in his own little Toy Story world.

What toys do your children play with?

It's all about the meatballs!

Well, not everytime but today it was! I went to Ikea today with my mum and lunch there was the highlight of the day. I just love their meatballs with mash and gravy. Not healthy...? Ah, who cares when it's so delicious!
Obviously that was not enough for my hungry tummy. I had to have more.... Soft ice with hundreds and thousands went down a treat too.
I did do a bit of shopping as well, of course I did. Not too much but there's always things I need from Ikea. Actually I go quite often because it's very close (too close) to the hospital where I go every 4 weeks to have my medicine. After 2 hours of being remined that I have MS (I forget about it most of the time or try too), a bit of lovely food and retail therapy is needed (and deserved) don't you think? Only got this today, all of it is something I really need!
My favourite is the very pink umbrella and the fake flowers, which I keep buying everytime I'm there! Hope you had a lovely Friday too, I certainly did!

Honeymoon - Disneyland here we come!

Just booked our honeymoon. We are all very excited as it's Disneyland we're going to. The little man can't stop jumping up and down with excitement. He keeps saying " I'm gonna meet Jessie in real life". The princess has revealed it's just somebody dressed up but it doesn't seem to bother the little man at all.
We leave the day school holiday starts. I know it's a month after the wedding but never mind, honeymoon it is and so exciting!

Wednesday 18 January 2012

"Can I have just arms?" the little man asked.

Hmmm... Kind of depends on what you mean. The little man is obsessed with having short sleeves. It's not quite the time of year for t-shirts unless on top of a long sleeved. Today though, it was really warm in the house when we got back from school and nursery so "just arms" was okay!

Little feet running.....

This is one of my best memories. It's from a time in my life where I should be ecstatic with happiness, which I was to a certain extent, but it was tainted by the situation we were in. I'm in hospital paralysed from my chest and down, only just learning to cope with the diagnosis of MS. The princess is 2, the little man 3 weeks old.
Every day the daddy would bring the princess and little man to see me. I would sit in the bed waiting for the best sound ever, little feet running down the hall! Followed by the princess' little voice calling " mummy mummy ". She would be closely followed by the daddy and little man. She'd climb into the bed to cuddle me, then I'd get in the wheelchair. The little man would be put in my arms propped up with pillows, there he'd stay the next 5-6 hours while I'd chat with my little princess. For 3 weeks the sound of little feet running down the hall was the best sound ever.

Monday 16 January 2012

Ah... That sweet love!

The little man has his first crush at the moment (apart from his mummy-crush he's had since he was a baby. I have now been replaced). It's not a real person though but that's not such a big suprise and he's not the first one in the family either. He's just like his daddy who also had a crush on a cartoon character - read The List.
The little man blushes and gets all giggly when he sees her on tv. He asks to watch Toy Story 2 and 3 repeatedly, to get a glimpse of his first love, Jessie! She is very cute, so it's understandable she was picked.

Maybe it's a boy thing to get crushes on cartoon characters? I don't remember having one. I remember having crushes, but on real people characters. Don Johnson from Maimi Vice was one of them.
Have you ever had a crush on a cartoon character?

I won again....

I feel so lucky. I never win anything, I know.... We all say that but honestly I don't and then just before Christmas I won a secret packet. This time I won this at http://danskewebchicks.blogspot.com sponsored by http://www.kirkesjov.blogspot.com/ It's so cute, I just love it!

The princess and little man love it too and straight away found things they wanted in it.

About friday night's post, look at my little cowgirl... How cute is she? Ready to go to her friend's birthday party yesterday. She did have a change of heart before she left. The hat was too big to bring she felt! So a last minute hair do had to be done. A side-ponytail was made and off she went in her new boots!

Friday 13 January 2012

"These boots are made for walking"

... quite right that is. Not made for running though but try telling a child that! Anyway they are very cool and my sister and I both stopped and reached for them. Red, bright red cowboy-looking boots and in little sizes. The princess has the best moster (aunty) because she could not leave the shop without buying these red boots for her niece.
The boots have not been off the princess' feet ever since she got them and right now they're next to her bed (please see the first picture!) She's getting her beauty sleep now so she can be ready for her friend's birthday party tommorrow, of course wearing her new boots.
So without further ado here's the boots....

"When will I, will I be famous"

... sang Bros (remember the blond boyband..?) in 1987, and today the daddy came through the door singing it! Why?? That's what I asked. Well, at his work they have an internal weekly news letter. Guess who was on the front this week?? Yep, the daddy was! The princess and little man weren't that impressed, not after having the magazine showed to them every two minutes. I tried to be patient but when the daddy hung it up in the kitchen, I had to break it to him. "Honey, it's a weekly news letter. Your picture will be replaced by next week. He didn't seem to mind walking off singing "When will I, will I be famous".
I would love to show you the picture but as it's an internal news letter, I'm not allowed to. You just have to trust me when I tell you, the daddy might be a bit over the top with his singing!

Actually if anyone is gonna be famous, it'll be the little man when he becomes a professional footballer. His newest football shirt brought all the way back from Uruguay. He looks very cool in it. Never mind he's only 4 and shoots as soon as he gets the ball. He's defo the new Forlan! (Pushy parent..? No, why would you think that!)

(My physio is from Uruguay and kindly brings back football shirts from his holidays to South America.)

London Tube map like you've never seen it before!

My soon-to-be-Father-in-law sent me this anagram of a London Tube map. It's brilliant and here's our life in London using the anagram!
We lived at Internal Puke, used to go shopping at Wonder Ego Shopping Centre. I worked for a while in Burn If Sparky, the daddy in Raw Achy, later I worked at Eldest Rot. Contend Grave was a place I loved to go and the market at Mown Cadent is a place I really miss! We used to go to Foldaway Rhumba as we had a season ticket to Chelsea 2004-2005, my tummy growing from flat to big like a huge football. Chelsea won the Premier Leaugue and the princess was born at the Wittington Hospital next to Raw Achy, as was the little man 2 years later!

Have a look at the link and you'll never be bored on the tube again if ever in London!

A little up and coming designer maybe....

The princess loves drawing and for her birthday in the summer, she got a drawing book where you draw clothes on the already drawen models. For her Christmas money she chose to buy one more book similar to the first one. I must say I'm amazed with her talent (if I'm allowed to call it that) but have a look at some of her creations! Lots of fine details for a 6½ year old isn't there?

Romantic dinner for two.

Just booked a table at an Italian Restuarant for Saturday night. Just me and the daddy are going out for dinner. Not something we do often even though everytime we've done it, we always say "We must do this again soon." Then we forget... But this Saturday, mormor (grandma) comes to babysit and off we go dining here!

I have asked for a table at the window so we can enjoy this view!

Sunday 8 January 2012

I won.... Woo hoo!

The whole of December the blog, Danish Webchicks http://danskewebchicks.blogspot.com/ had a competition everyday where you could win really cool stuff. I optimisticly entered everyday hoping.... The 21st of December I won... Yeah! It was a suprise packet from a company called Carrot, in Danish Guleroden.dk http://www.guleroden.dk/ and this is what I won. Oh and a big bag of crisps too but we ate them before I got to take a picture..

The last thing, Glow-in-the-dark building set, was a very big hit with the princess and little man. You can make all sorts of shapes and they were completely in the zone (building zone that is) for a good hour.

Argh... When do I learn?

I've been busy this morning and not because I really had to, it's weekend and we're not really doing anything. It's just that I have the most energy in the mornings. Legs feel nearly normal so I just keep going. It's just normal stuff, getting clothes out, getting breakfast ready and then I (stupidly) also started baking. What I should have done was to remember to sit down. Now I can hardly walk which is annoying when I'm not finished with what I want to do. It won't last long, I know that and if I just sit for a while I'll be fine.... Hence the blog I'm writing! Can't just sit down for the sake of it can I..?!
Anyway legs alright now after sitting, first blogging then having lunch, which I did manage to get ready before legs need me to sit!
Right, will I remember now? Doubt it, as it happens all the time and I just don't seem to learn the lesson! Argh.... The rest of the afternoon will be used to just sit, reading my book. If the little man will let me that is. The princess has a playmate here and they're very busy and in absolutely no need of adult company. Well, unless they need food, drinks or treats of course!

Friday 6 January 2012

So Much For That.

That's the title of the book I'm reading at the moment. Lionel Shriver wrote it, she also wrote We Need To Talk About Kevin which was the first book of hers I read. A Perfectly Good Family was the 2nd and now I'm reading So Much For That. I've enjoyed reading her work and will defo find another one to read when I finish this.
What are you reading at the moment?

Thursday 5 January 2012

The shiny white pages are not all that shiny anymore!

Writing is already on the first of those nice blank and shiny pages.... A few phone calls on the first day back to reality, things quickly being scribled down and looks a bit messy already. Had promised myself to write neatly and easy to read. Obviously my memory is not fully back on track!
The very last bit of Christmas has left the house. On the wall above where all the Christmas cards hung, the princess' Christmas presents she made us, are hanging now. Waiting for new artwork from the little man and princess to be made, to fill the empty space the cards left behind when removed!
The little man's presents he made for us, are also put up filled with flowers.
I bought myself this message board with some of my Christmas money. Hoping to make the mummy-secretary-job a bit easier to overlook. What to cook, who's playing with who and where, need to buy, remember gym clothes.... You get the picture! Will it work? I'll let you know in month or two.
