The daddy has his first gig in Denmark...

And his name in the paper (okay, lokal paper but still...) This Sunday he's playing at the opening of a new cafe in town. It's called Frk Frozen Yogurt and the frozen yogurt is soooo nice with different toppings! Here's the picture from the paper. Yes, I know it's in Danish but not the daddy's name.... It's right there in they paper!

What the universe had planned.....

Well, as I wrote in the last post - a storm hit Denmark. Bodil (still don't know why it's called that) made the diglots' school cancelled the show Nana and Papa had travelled all the from the UK to see them in. Today I stumbled across this picture....

Thursday 5 December 2013

So dissapointed....

So Nana and Papa came to visit from England on Tuesday. It was a long-planned visit because the children's school was doing a show. The little man was singing and walking with candles, it's called Santa Lusia, and the princess was singing with her class and the school choir. Nana and Papa are here to watch but then the storm decided to come.... Bodil it's called but who cares about the name, the stupid storm has made the school cancel the show. The children are upset and angry - The show has been postponed to next Wednesday but how's that gonna help?? By then Nana and Papa will be back in England. We'll film it all and send it over but still... We planned for them to come and talked about it for so long and now they'll miss the show because Mother nature decides to play up!

I'm not impressed nor are the children or Nana and Papa!

Oh, and who thought Bodil would be a good name for the storm??

Sunday 1 December 2013

Wow, it's already December....

Since Friday, Christmas has seriously been pushing it's way into town and our home.... Friday, the man in red aka Father Christmas came into town on a boat. His wife wasn't with him this year - rumour has it it that it might be stress but nothing is confirmed! Well, the man in red arrived and he walked with the all the children and their parents to the museum (that's right, we've got one of those in town) where 2 oversized Elves apparently live. Then everyone including the 2 oversized Elves walked to the town square where the big Christmas tree is and turned the lights on.

Saturday, we got all the Christmas stuff out and got the house decorated. I had been looking forward to decorate the piano - it's our first Chritmas with it in the house. The little man straight away needed his Elf hat on and sat with the daddy to watch Santa Claus the movie.

This morning we woke up and the fairy had already delivered the Christmas tree. The little man and the princess were delighted and we decorated it all together. The fairy sat overlooking it all from the top.

Today, it was the town's Christmas market and we went to have a look around. The diglots both tried Rudolph - the princess staying on for 31 seconds.

Are you all Christmased up??

Sunday 24 November 2013

Tivoli in Copenhagen....

I went with the Danish MS Society to see the Christmas lights in Tivoli, Copenhagen. I also went to Hamley's to look at Lego and to high five Ironman. Everything in Copenhagen looked sooo Christmassy already...

Charlie and Lola, the postcard.

Uncle D came to visit us this weekend from England. Aunty E couldn't come with him this time because she had to work but she gave Uncle D a very special letter to give to the diglots. Uhhh..... Exciting, eh? What could it be??
Well, Aunty E works at the library and get to go to library things with work. Cool because that means she gets to meet writers sometimes and this time she met Lauren Child who wrote the fantastic Charlie and Lola books. The letter Uncle D brought with him was a cool signed postcard from Lauren Child. How cool is that...

People with no children don't know....

Watch this before you judge my statement.... It's soooooo funny. You might already have seen it - I've seen it many times but felt I should share it with you lovely people.

Monday 4 November 2013

Amazeballs..... It's all I want for Christmas!!!!

Came across the photo here yesterday. It's sooooo amazing - must own a set. Are you reading this Santa???? I know I'm easily impressed but this is amazeballs, don't you think???? It's an icecream but not,  it's pizza - what's not to like?? An icecream - pizza!

Saturday 26 October 2013

The pumpkin with glasses....

The little man and I made his pumpkin today. The princess is staying over at her friend's house and making her pumpkin there. The little man thought it was very important that he drew the face first so I could cut it just like he wanted it. He was not entirely happy with me and watch closely during the whole cutting process... He did accept the outcome though and even smiled.

Thursday 17 October 2013

'All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth'

That's what's daddy is singing and what Papa will be singing when him and Nana come over in the beginning of December. It's not that long ago that the little man knocked his front tooth out. It was wobbly but not quite ready, the other front tooth most have been knocked too because it was getting more wobbly every day. Yesterday the little man had had enough and brave as he is, so much more brave than I am, he pulled it out and is now looking like this.... Cute isn't he??

Tuesday 15 October 2013

Legoland was amazing....

Very handicap friendly - easy access everywhere - no queues for us. The weather was amazing yesterday and we spent the whole day there. Back home again the princess and little man started building their new Lego straight away. They both spent all their saved up pocket money in the Lego store. I'll leave you with lots of pictures from a day in Legoland Billund, Denmark.

Sunday 13 October 2013

Somebody has had a birthday....

Well, that somebody would be me and did I get some amazing presents? Oh yes I did!! So many things I didn't know I needed and now obviously can't live without, and a very fantastic piece of art too. It's from Uncle D (not my uncle, the diglots uncle) and it will defo be hung on the best place in our living room.

Isn't it cool?? It's US..... The princess, the daddy, me, the little man and Muffin the cat.

It's half term here so next week we're enjoying not having to get up early. Tomorrow we're off to Legoland (the original one in Denmark as we only live 45 minutes away but have never been) We are sooooo excited and I cant wait for the diglots' faces when they see how everything is Lego.
They have saved up their pocket money for the last few months and will be bringing them. Apparently there's an outlet where they sell cheap Lego....

Monday 7 October 2013

One tooth less....

Out it came at school and I got a beaming smile when I picked up the little man. The tooth was lost in the sandpit though and 16 little 6 year olds and their teacher could not find it....

Wednesday 2 October 2013

A boy and his daddy!

The little man and his daddy look alike and are alike. The are both very stubborn and the daddy is the little man's hero (for now anyway - I plan to sweep in and take over the hero role at some point)  They have a very strong bond - I believe it's a bond they would have had anyway if things had been different. I do also believe it's a bit stronger than 'normal' because of the start in life the little man had. He was 3 weeks old when I was in the Hospital for 3 long weeks - The daddy brought the little man to see me for 5-6 hours a day where he would lay on my chest for those 5-6 hours. The rest of the time it would be his daddy's chest he would lay on, the daddy's hands that would change him and feed him. I'm not complaining - I love their strong bond, identical big brown eyes and their thick brown hair.

These pictures are from our Wedding day 2nd June 2012.

Saturday 28 September 2013

We're all in this together....

Just look at the concentration... The princess, her best friend, the daddy and the little man all worked together to make the cake.

- and this is the icing being put on the cake!!

- and it tasted sooooooo good, the cake with it's yellow icing!

Thursday 26 September 2013

This is my daddy....

This is how the little man apparently sees his daddy... Love the detailed drawing even though the cropped top is slightly disturbing.... And I promise you, not something the daddy has ever worn! Well, not that I know of....

You guys must agree with me that this is not something we want to see men be wearing, am I right??

Sunday 22 September 2013

Birthday cake...

My friend had her 40th birthday party yesterday and we all went... Look at this fantastic cake! Her mum had made it for her. A wine barrel, grapes, 2 glasses of wine and cheese. Inside was the nicest chocolate cake...

Friday 20 September 2013

Meet Kevin....

Kevin is my new kitchen helper and he looks like this....
Isn't he hansome?? I know and he gets the job done!  He makes the dough (and a lot of other stuff when I work out what and how to do it) but right now he is mixing the ingredients to the differents breads and buns I'm making. It's so easy and no painful hands or arms from kneading. Kevin does that.... This bread 1 and 2, yummy!

Tuesday 17 September 2013

I'm not clumsy... really I'm not!

I wish I was though. If only that was the reason and not an illness that won't ever go away. What made me smile when I read this though is that at least it's funny words. Because the MS can make me look like I'm drunk and I hate that but these words are harmless really, don't you think?

Anyway, it made me smile so here's the rest of the words....

Sunday 15 September 2013

Some weeks just fly by, don't they...???

I feel this week has gone sooo quickly. We haven't done anything special really just normal stuff. Took me a few days to get over the Wedding, that's how my MS body works. It'll let me have a good time without bothering me then hit back the next days.... Even though the daddy and the diglots baked cookies to cheer it up. I got cheered up but my MS body took 3 days this time. Think I need to have a word!

Tuesday was Sports Day at school and the weather was lovely so no muddy clothes for me to wash.... Oh, and apparently pancake-baking-over-open-fire is a sport!!! Lego building wasn't so the princess and I had to just do that at home. She has so much Friends Lego now and loves building with it. I love when I'm allowed to be in charge help out.
The little man is into drawing at the moment and he has chosen to draw fruits, veggies, tools and guns.... Yep, guns! The purple one was for his sister. He gets up in the morning and draws, he comes home from school and draws.

Tradition here at ours is that on Fridays the diglots have a bowl of treats but not if bad behavior has been going on too much... Well, this Friday somebody had not been good so somebody had a bowl of fruit instead. Somebody then stated that "somebody had not had treats 3 times on a friday" and then concluded somebody had only been very naugthy 3 times ever... Well I think not, but let's leave it for now!

Actually I feel September has gone really quickly already or maybe a lot of things have happened, like the proud moment when the princess recieved her t-shirt at school for reading 5000 pages. Or when we went to have a big ice cream on the first day of Autumn. The Princess started gymnastics again every Monday evening, now being the oldest on their team. So I guess the days have just passed quickly getting back into routine.

Sunday 8 September 2013

What a great day...

So my oldest friend got married yesterday..... There was fantastic food, lots of chatting, 4 childhood friends catching up, singing Proud Mary by Tina Turner with dancing and there's a video which will never be seen.... In the heat of dancing and singing there was talk about how fantastic it must look... Why not put it on youtube!!! Well, that'll never happen and you guys will thank me for that I promise you!
There were pictures though of the 4 childhood friends (yes I'm one of them) - some better than others... This one is my favourite as it just sums us up as friends.

Saturday 7 September 2013

More Weddings.

Today my oldest friend (as in the friend I've known the longest) is getting married. Here in Denmark today's date is special: 7th of september 2013. Therefore lots of people are getting hitched. 7-9-13 is like how you say 'touch wood'. We just say 7-9-13 and knock on the nearest wood we can find.
Enough about superstitions... We're going to a Wedding and I can't wait. My mum is looking after the diglots, I have my speech ready and it's a good one. I have to say a few words (people will shed a tear) because she is my childhood friend and we've had so many good times together.

I'm not entirely sure what I'm wearing yet so no pictures - maybe tomorrow!

Have a lovely Saturday.

Tuesday 3 September 2013

Been there, done that and got the t-shirt!

Or something like that... Anyway she got the t-shirt because she read 5000 pages... actually more but who's counting! Oh, we are....

Sunday 1 September 2013

A calm weekend it has been.

Last Sunday, 11 little girls and boys were running around the house. It was the last of the birthday shenanigans and this weekend it has just been us. We have had a very needed we-have-nothing-planned-weekend. Since school started again 3 weeks ago, we have been busy every weekend. So we decided that it's having-a-big-ice-cream-day today. Yes, it's the first day of Autumn today but that won't stop us because we need a big ice cream today. One for all of us up at the ice cream parlour in the forest.
They tasted sooo good....

Now it's homework time, the princess and daddy are doing maths. I'm getting school bags ready for tomorrow and getting gymnastics clothes packed, one for the little man for school and one not for school but for the princess' gymnastics class. It is starting up again tomorrow at 6pm so we have a busy Monday ahead but I'm sure we'll soon be used to the routine again.

Next weekend is a little bit busy, but only Saturday. My oldest friend (as in the friend I've known for the longest) is getting married so we have a wedding to attend, yippeee! My mum is looking after the little man and princess so it will be a relaxing wedding just about me, I mean my friend of course but also me a bit as there's no children for daddy to tend to, just me!

Sunday 25 August 2013

The one with yet another birthday party.

11 girls and boys came at 10am and the little man span the bottle so they all got to hand over their present one by one. The weather was great so we put blankets in the garden and they enjoyed a cupcake before they played. The princess had a trail of little girls after her and was amazing with them.... The boys made a huge train track, played on the trampoline and shot a few hoops.
At lunch time we sat them on blankets in the garden again, so much easier for us when it came to tidying up. Then it was time for the treasure hunt which the princess and the daddy were in charge of. They had just finished when it was time to be picked up again. They were all very well behaved and it was lots of fun, the little man had enjoyed his party he told us. Well, that's nice isn't it? We enjoyed it too but i must admit I'm tired now and looking forward to bedtime.

Friday 23 August 2013

Birthday presents, so many and more to come....

The little man got lots of presents on his birthday and there was a lot of excited screams as he opened them. There will be more pressies on Sunday when the little man's class come for his birthday party. 3 hours of mayhem, treasure hunts and games - this time at our house. The princess is very excited as she is helping with it all and feels very important.
Cool uncle D and pretty aunty E gave him goalkeeper gloves.... Great uncle and aunty gave him a very cool leather football! He is one very happy boy.

Tuesday 20 August 2013

Tomorrow the little man is 6... Can you believe it?

Well, I certainly can't! My little boy is 6 years old, in school and growing with a speed that's frightning. Today he helped me bake cup cakes to bring to school tomorrow. It's for his class and teacher. They'll enjoy them after morning assembly where the whole school will sing happy birthday for him. He's very excited! Just look at my little big chef in his appron... Where did the time go?

He's in bed now, sound asleep and the daddy and I have decorated the house with flags (that's what we do here in Denmark) and balloons. He can have a few presents in the morning and then we'll be celebrating with the grandparents and great aunty after school. I'm sure there'll be more pressies and a birthday song too.

Sunday 18 August 2013

The party that went well....

The princess and her best friend wanted to have a birthday party for everyone in their class. Both of them have their birthday while it's school holiday so they were desperate to have the party as soon as they were back to school.
Today was the day. They decorated the cupcakes themself and the marsmallows on sticks got dipped in chocolate and sprinkles. We (us parents) hid the treassure chest and made a map. They had 4 posts to find and a task to do at each post before finding the treats. One task made the girls scream with horror... The boys had to put nail vanish on them! They did an okay great job, the boys.

They had a great party and they were two very happy girls when all had gone home. Tired yes, but happy!
